if your passenger load is bigger (size and/or number), you CAN go wrong with the mobilio/brv.

^I agree... Was choosing between the Innova, Crosswind and Adventure earlier... Chose the Adventure (which is slow, seatbelt lang ang safety feature and old)

As I posted earlier... May ibang confidence ka sa AUV. We had a FX earlier and kapag umuulan, paagahan kami ng alis sa house to use it (later replaced by the Adv)
Going to the market... Iwan din kotse sa house, AUV kami

More than 10 years with the FX and more than 5 years with the Adventure, never kaming pinara ng smoke belching. Although sa FX yung unang huli ko for driving without a seatbelt... (our 94 model didn't come with front seatbelts)

The Toplander suggested earlier is also worth considering.

Do you need an AT? Cuz the Innova J fits your budget and has everything you need. Only downside (if you would call it that) is that it only comes in manual.

Probably, last week ng November kami bibili. Ayun, we're really considering now th BR-V for the budget. Tapos, dahil po sa suggestion nyo, ayun tinitingnan na din namin kung kaya pa i-stretch ang bidget for Innova J Diesel. Problem for Innova J is manual yan, medyo hesitant na kami kumuha ng manual sa metro manila traffic condition. At shenpre nga medyo mataas na din around 60k din ang price difference nila.

Ayun, so far, Innova J Diesel vs. BR-V S. Out na po talaga ang 2nd hand. Hehe

Kung mananalo lang sana ako sa lotto, hindi ko na proproblemahin eto e. Hehe

Actually hindi naman. It's nice to drive an AT with our current situation. Pero hindi naman talaga. We're scheduled for a test drive this Sunday. Try namin both innova and br-v. 😁

Guys, I really need your advice and inputs. So we're still looking for our first brand new family car. We are a family of 7 (pero mostly 4 or 5 lang ang sakay), around 5'8" ang height and planning to buy an entry level family car, at least 7-seater. We are initially considering Avanza but we decided to take it out of the picture because of its looks and features. (Also considered the advices of some of the guys here).

Now, we are cureently choosing between the three: Mobilio, BRV, or Crosswind XT. What we like about the Mobilio is its looks and I think it has a pretty nice specs for its price. My problem is its height, medyo mababa sya. Kaya pumasok si BRV sa options. Then, for the Crosswind, my sister wants the crosswind for several reasons, ground clearance, can seat 10 people (we really want an Innova pero di kaya sa budget), and diesel engine. What I dont like about it is that it's an old model, which lacks safety features among others. So tell me, is my dislike for the crosswind valid?

Help us decide which car would best suit us. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: The goal also is to have a car that would probable serve us at least 10 years. This is another reason why I dislike the crosswind. (I am thinking that because it's an old model, sobrang maluluma na sya, unlike the mobilio or brv)

PS: Hirap pala pumili ng sasakyan. Litong-lito na ako. hehe

Good choice ang 3 vehicles, 2 advanced features, 1 old school pero very reliable.

Since eto yung na drive ko, never ko pa na-drive ang BRV, ok naman ang performance, mabilis ang response, then kahit i-floor ang throttle from N, i will limit to 4K RPM, then pag binaba sa D, 2 seconds delay at sisibat agad..

ang pinaka-weird sa Mobilo, yung shift knob, walang light illumination pag ginamit ito sa night-driving..

kung sa space naman, ang sacrifice lang talaga yung legroom dun sa middle seat, lalo kung matangkad ng nagmamaneho.. tapos matangkad pa ang sasakay...

Crosswind,

Hindi lang ito tatagal ng 10yrs, yung iba earlier model bago mag-crosswind (highlander) lagpas 20yrs na.. at tumatakbo pa rin sa kalsada..


Ang pro and cons lang naman sa dalawa,

mas advanced ang 2 model, mas maraming safety features, pero mas matindi ang maintenance cost, dahil drive-by-wire na..
unlike sa old-school, mechanical type, less complicated pag dating sa maintenance, pero, yung safety features lang talaga ang lack dito...

If ever less than 1M ang budget,

Pwede naman mag-scout for 2nd hand PPV SUV..

at least 2-3yrs late model (2014-2015 or next year, 2015-2016)

Pwede sa mga repossessed banks or loan agency, pero ang risk lang dun, as-is-where-is.
or dun sa family, relative or even friend at kakilala na merong maalaga sa sasakyan, much better..

lalo kung pa-migrate sa ibang bansa at less than a month pa lang ito nabili..

Semi OT:

Hindi po lahat ng mga transmission, merong ganitong safety features, any brand or transmission between AT/MT..

Sa vios namin na non-dual AT, walang ganyang features, from full stop, pero once naka N, aabot sa 7K Redline RPM, then once na binababa sa D, malakas na kalabog na parang kakalas ang makina at transmission sa chassis...

Pero once nasa highway at accidental na ilagay sa R ang transmission, hindi yan tutuloy sa Reverse

Pero sa Montero namin na 4x4 MT, once na engaged ang clutch sa 1st or Reverse Gear, fully depressed, limit lang ng 3K RPM..pag full stop or less 20KPH..


Merong "Drivetrain protection"

wala man sa owners manual.. kahit sa specs..

iba-iba ang terminology.. pero yan ang pinaka-hidden safety features, para hindi masira ang lahat ng components related sa engine at transmission

Uuuy! Nice to know that we're not the only one having this dilemma. Let us know about your test drive. So far, Crosswind is out of the picture. It's neck and neck between Innova J Diesel and BRV-S. Mag-test drive naman kami sa weekend, pag-uwi ko nang Pinas.

Thanks Sir Playplugg for the input. Do you own a Mobilio? Cost of maintennance ang isa pa din naming tinitingnan na aspect ngayon. Kung kaya ba namin ang maintennance cost for an AT vehicle. Lalo na balita namin, medyo mahal ang maintennance ng Honda cars. Ito pa ang isang nilamang ni Innova, dahil M/T at mas common, medyo mas mura ang maintennance.

Correct sir. But it really depends sa needs mo, if TS needs bigger space most of the time i suggest he gets the innova whether its gas or diesel. Since he also factors in the maintenance cost,lamang pa din innova bcoz toyota's cheaper than honda. Lamang lng tlga ng brv is its features. Im also torn between the 2 but 1 of my tiebreakers is kung ano mpili ni kumander hehe [emoji28] [emoji56]
