For me I prefer A/T for public roads, makapag relax before and after a hard day's work. M/T for racing(PC games lang - DIRT2 and NFS2 and NFS Shift. no budget for real racing). hehe

AT. Madali. Required nga lang skill para magkaruon ka ng magandang FC.
after watching top gear and fifth gear.. they still consider manual cars as Real PROPER cars.. heheheh..
May study dati na majority ng automatic transmission car owners may back problems.
Despite the comfort that the Automatic Transmission gives mo, may parang " return " saiyo iyan eh.
- If you plan to keep the vehicle for a decade or so tapos hindi mo masyado mamamaintain yung A/T, there is a possibility na masisira ito.
- In case na tumirik ang kotse mo at automatic ang transmission nito may proper towing techniques pa na kailangan gawin or else sira lalo yung oto mo.
- Extra gastos ang ATF Fluid.
... pwede ba i-jump start ang A/T in case ? Kung hindi, nako isang down din ito.
Kaya M/T all the way.![]()

M/T for fun... A/T for comfort...
if you want both... get a sportronic tranny (+/-)![]()
just an experience yesterday during traffic, relative din kasi sa thread na ito, anyway here it goes.
anyway, that is why recommended ang A/T because it is easier to drive lalo na for aged people. back to the story, I volunteered na ako na ang magdrive pataas nung vios niya. and to my shock, hindi ko mai-start yung vios niya amfs! ayun pala kailangan pang apakan ang clutch para mag-start???ayun, naiangat na ang vios and tumuloy na ang traffic.
lesson, M/T will kill you on a hanging situation, talagang ibibitin ka kapag hindi ka sanay hehe. for ladies IMO, talagang automatic ang recommended transmission.
p_borj : Yes. Vioses requires you to step on the clutch while starting the engine. For safety purposes na rin.
Hirap talaga pag incline. Lalo na kung sa mga mall ka mabibitin. But then again, sanayan lang iyan. ;)
+1 on the hand break technique.
question on MT though. pag steep incline ba, ok lang na naka-half depressed yung clutch to the release/biting point lang? how about with occassional mild pressing on the gas pedal pag sobrang steep ang incline? or hindi recommended ang ganitong technique? may situations kasi na pakonti-konti lang ang andar tapos sobrang steep ng incline.
slipping the clutch.. ^ i'v heard that clutches slipping for long periods would just end up to be fried. pero kung minsan-minsan lang ok lang naman siguro...
