niky, what can you comment on the "scarpping issues" with the Navara? Nissan claims in its brochure that it has the highest ground clearance in its class, yet the 4x4ph website kept on bemoaning getting scrapes with each movement. I think bec. of its poor approach and departure angles, these are the areas that kept getting scraped and not the vital parts underneath (shaft, gas tank, etc..)????

,, the Navara has the highest ground clearance (on paper),

it has also the longest wheelbase in its class,

thus, its Ramp_Break-over_Angle is lower compared to its rivals.

In TGP comparo, DMax won (over the Ranger and Navara 4x4s) due to its off-roading abilities and "efficient use" of what its has. Now, how will the DMax compare to the 2.5L Manual 4x4 Strada?

Space is the final frontier in ute design, and which ute suits you best is a case of priorities. Should you take the large, carry-everything Nissan Navara ST-X, or save several thousand by buying the smaller but newer Mitsubishi Triton?

If you have the money to burn and issues surrounding practicality aren't a concern of yours... Go for the Nissan Navara 4x4! Impressive looks, power and speed! Stock set-up ka lang. Just replace the 'bading-sounding' horns to a decent one and you're ok to go!

(I have NOT even had the chance to go 4x4 bro! Hehehe! But I enjoy the WOW factor and attention it gets from the public. Believe me, 'di na kailangan ng wang wang at blinkers. )

    kung s Lower Variant ka:

    mag Mitsubishi strada ka.

Pero kung sa Hi End Variant ka:

    Go for Nissan Navara 4x4

Pinaka malakas, pinaka mabilis na yan.

di naman siguro every movement hehe. actually magkapareho lang ang hilux (which most say na super laki) and navara in terms of approach/break-over/departure angles given that the navara has marginally higher ground clearance (235mm right?). sa mga hilux 4x4 ng company namin (all stock except tires - 265/70 ata) may scraping din naman na nangyayari when we use it sa sie (mine site) though di naman ganun ka alarming. mababa lang tingnan sa picture (read: sa photos) ang navara but when you go out sa road, ang laki niya 'tol. bigla pumayat yung hilux, and when you see them both side by side, there is actually very little difference sa height (height ha, not ground clearance). i believe the navara is a bit lower to bring down the center of gravity for added "driftability" (according to niky of bigbigcar) or at least for more decent handling of corners sa city and winding roads sa countryside.

so if youre driving 70 percent city and 30 percent rough/offroad, choose the navara na.

pero kung gusto mo talaga offroad, navara pa rin hehe. pag serious offroading, better modify your suspension. stock cant survive serious offroading regardless of brand or make.

palabas na raw sa 2011 yung facelifted navara, with a bit of increase in power and torque (190 hp from 174 hp and 450 from 403 Nm?) and lower compression ratio (16:1) and claimed lower Fuel consumption.

and test drive first the navara, dont judge it by merely relying on reviews and photos. anyways yung mga nagreview din sa navara have tested it also.

Low ground clearance is easily cured by getting higher profile tires. Thus also curing the "scraping". Test the more important features you most likely cannot change like handling, NVH, ride quality, brake assist, ABS, etc.

Testing cars yourself and getting to know how its like to drive them is so much different than reading reviews. Take the test drive to where your next pickup will see most of its use. Try it out on trips you would normally take, with the people you would normally be with before you buy.

agree on this! good point, dapat talaga i-test o i-consider yung mga features na you can't easily change

malaki wheel well ng navara, can easily swallow 32 or 33" tires!

you can easily modify the suspension. also, the navara has fatter CV (constant velocity) angles compared to other pickups in the segment so no need to worry about breaking those CV joints. sobra laki na ng navara pag lifted siya, sobrang angas din. hehe. (ive seen one on edsa and a handful sa subic)

supremely planted pa rin sa ground ang navara kahit lifted due to its wider stance so no worries of losing its handling/cornering abilities.

    more HP to navara!

    here is the URL: http://www.ancap.com.au/results/168/

there is also an evaluation or comments on what happened on cabin components (brake pedal movement after collision, steering wheel, clutch, dashboard - all stated with length of movement, like sa hilux, it moved daw about 40 to 60 mm rearwards and so on).
