For a new car, I usually plan a trip for 1 to 2 weeks na dapat maibalik sa casa for the first 1,000 km change oil / pms.

Drive casually for the first 500 km for break in and then yung remaining 500 is to test the cars limit [emoji3][emoji41]

    1) If I go with ceramic coating, is waxing still needed for the duration of the coating?

    2) How will the coating be restored after, say, a minor accident happened (gasgas)?

    3) Are there any car covers that are premium and that don't produce hairline scratches to the car?

    4) Is the Sunroof recommended to be installed with tint too?

I see. So is it wiser to just forego the car cover and just be vigilant in getting rid of bird poop manually?

Oh and by the way, do I still to use quick detailers in case of bird poop when the car is coated with ceramic glass?

What kind of freebies should I ask from my SA to make my purchase more "valuable"? I never tried talking to other SA's and I thought of doing that before I regret it.

read your manual. it's there. and no it's not a "hard" break-in that's described there

oh wow congrats. what car btw?

just beware of the opinion of some people that a "hard" break-in is the thing to do

do a VERY thorough inspection. bring an ultraviolet flashlight to check for leaks or even just to check for weird stuff in the upholstery

Thanks! It's the 2018 Subaru XV.

Yeah, this is my first car purchase so I need all the advices that I can get.

I don't have a UV flashlight. Do you really recommend having one for the inspection?

one thing i'd check, would be the tools and the spare tire (serious!).
it'd be a horrid experience if one suffers a flat tire on the car's first trip home, only to find out, that the tire-replacement tools aren't in there.
another thing, also check the insurance, that it should already be in force. my workplace colleague has a tearful experience...

haha yeah i just brought home a new car about 2 weeks ago. i was quite comfortable to do it even without insurance but my sis convinced me to wait 2 days for her to finish doing the paperwork

as for UV flashlight it's nice to have but not totally needed

check out some PDI (pre delivery inspection) checklists

errr... what will you do with a UV flashlight?
i'd get a regular LED flashlight. in everyday life, it's more useful.

Road trip agad to get a good feel of the car.

Throttle inputs, brake feel, steering feedback, the AC feel and of course the new car smell.

I've had several cars, both brand new and secondhand, and I've never found the need for a UV flashlight.
