Anyone here using a car cover?

Pansin ko pag malakas ulan nag momoist yung loob ng car cover namin tapos nag s-stick yung water dahil nadadaganan ng cover.

End result parang may marring sa paint na ibang shade ng silver (car is silver) and I can't remove it using normal wash or clay.

    Any tips?

Mas malala kasi pag diko cinover yung kotse kasi mapupuno ng tree sap, bird and bat poop, pollen, etc.

    instead of covering the car,
would you consider stretching a tarpaulin over the car, instead?
you can angle it so's it be self-draining.

I was actually considering this as this is the best one, but it's a street parking (legal, btw ) but I think it's a bit of a stretch to have a umbrella like cover for the suv.

I think there's some in SHP or LZD that looks like a slim umbrella.

I'll send a pic of my car cover's stain after 2 days of rain.

My parking is above a mango tree that provides good shade...and a lot of sap, flowers, small stems, bird and bat poop.

Once the coconut tree at the other side is cleared of old coconuts, I'll transfer my parking there even without a cover. Already had an experience of a coconut falling on my vios' rear windshield.

Anyway, I might get this nalang.

    Got it, lol.

Layered another coat of protection sa roof bago ko ginamit.

Also added foam padding sa mga tinatamaan ng straps, specially sa paint area.

Hey there, i have been a silent reader in this thread for quite a while now. I consider myself a newbie to detailing but i have done readings/research about wax applicatuon.

I just tried to use collinite 845 insulator wax for the first time earlier this morning. I used it as a standalone wax meaning wala akong sealant na nilagay. Its the only product i have with me right now and since i have so much time due to a lockdown, i might as well just try it hehe. I clayed the area first (hood lang muna nilagyan ko. Bukas na ulit yung ibang panels hehe) using a generic 3m claybar and lots of soapy water. I can say na the hood surface was quite smooth before i applied the wax.

Wanna ask some enthusiast's opinion about my work na wala na akong iba pang nilagay na sealant before the 845. I see its quite and old product and im afraid i wasnt able to dig enough info about it. Tatagal parin kaya to like many reviewers claim na 3-5 months?

Sa malas ko, inulan din siya pagka hapon. I dont have access to a roofed garage right now kasi my worksite is on lockdown. Its not ideal but i work with what i have. I have attached pics ng water beading after the rain. img_20200926_185258.jpgimg_20200926_185325.jpg

life of wax ... dont worry about it bro.

if its not hydrophobic then it needs a reapplication.

Yan ba ang general rule of thumb na indicator kung good pagka apply yung wax?

    There are two things:

    1. panel by panel inspection but this is for perfectionists. prep work is required which i think you already skipped.

    2. water beading / hose down

I did claybar for preparation. One of the reasons why hood lang muna nilagyan ko is mejo malinis na yung hood. Yung door panels kasi marami pang tar and asphalt na tumigas. Ayaw matanggal sa clay. Im planning to use wd40 next time.

^ After claybar, I use cleaner wax followed by scratchX (if needed). The good thing is, your car has a white paint, so you won’t have to worry much about swirl marks.

Turtlewax bug and tar removed. This is mandatory for detailing in my opinion

    Thanks sir.

*StockEngine, i will look into that matapos lang tong lockdown.

Is there anybody here naka try nang gumamit ng generic 3M claybar? Its my first time to use claybar kasi and i opted for the budget friendly type. I used lots of soapy water when using and wala naman akong na notice na marring right after. during application, randam ko na gritty ang surface, and after a few passes naging smooth na. Ramdam talaga sa kamay pag hagod na natanggan ang mga dumikit nang "contaminants". img_20200928_161242.jpg

lift the weatherstrip (yung goma) up and you will probably see more rust. don't worry. that weatherstrip is designed for easy removal and installation.
use sandpaper or metal brush to remove what rust you can.
remove oils and grease, then apply the rust treatment.
after overnight, clean off and re-install the weatherstrip rubber.
some folks may want to paint the exposed metal surface to make it more appealing.

    kung mamalasin,
upon cleaning off the rust, you might discover that there is considerably more rust there than you imagined.
    good luck.
