Okay, thanks sir Umi! natatakot lang ako baka it might caused cracks sa black plastic lalo na sa mga black hoses that's why i ask muna.

sir retz, sa engine bay, for the black plastics, i use the microtex sun shield. for the rubber parts, that's where i use the tire black. mas pang rubber kasi yung tire black ang pang plastic naman yung sun shield. hindi nga lang makintab ang result nung sun shield.

It's gentle enough for use on leather and other delicate interior surfaces - doesn't mean you can't use it on other parts of the car, though

Combo yung Step 1,2,3. 1 is Cleaner, 2 is Glaze, 3 is Carnauba Wax.

Mga sirs, hope i could also seek your advice in having a regimen in maintaining my car. It's brand new just like me... new on cars hehehe...

I'm thinking of availing the paint protect service from BB, however, I'd really want to be hands-on in keeping my car shiny. I'm a little bit OC, knows very little about car maintenance but very willing to learn. I'd really want to keep my car like new since I'm planning to keep him with me forever. I've back-read and picked-up a lot, though, if you could be specific on what to buy, which product to use and on what intervals should i use them (weekly, monthly, etc.). BTW, what I currently have are microfiber towels, a piece of chamois and a Microtex duster.

    Thanks in advance! =)

sir, i would suggest mag microtex nanosil and nano gloss ka na lang for weekly application. easier and much cheaper than mothers' or meg products. So parang Step 1 & 2 sa nanosil and step 3 yung nano glos. Very effective and glossy pero after one washing, kelangan na ulit apply kaya pang weekly routine sya. Then dagdagan mo na supply mo ng nano sliq para kung feel mo i-wax ang car mo anyday of the week, pwedeng pwede. fast and easy, 10 mins tapos na agad. Pero bili ka na din ng california duster kasi kelangan mo i-dust off yung car mo daily specially pag apply ka ng nano sliq to prevent swirl marks or hairline scratches.

if i may add, since the condition here will require you to at least do weekly maintenance DIY, i would suggest you go for microtex products. see my reply above regarding this products. if you dont have time naman to do weekly cleaning and waxing chores, then go for the more durable but expensive products like mothers gold and meg ultimate products. if you can spend some more, then go for Collinite or klasse products, they claim their wax lasts for at least a month. i just got hold of my collinite wax and have not used it yet so i cant vouch yet regarding how long it will last.

palitan mo na din yang chamois mo maam, mas maganda (though pricey) yung microfiber towel ng microtex for drying purposes (yung gray na waffled texture) or yung chamois micro fiber nila. based on my experience, mahirap pang tuyo yang chamois kasi dumidikit sa body ng car at nakaka cause ng swirl marks. gamitin mo na lang yan chamois mo for drying the door sills, at singit singit ng hood and trunk.

you may also check the many video instructions and reading materials from the web site of megs, mothers, and other detailing forum for a more detailed and expert advice.

Ive been using microtex products eversince. Gusto ko sana matry itong mothers. Same lang din ba quality nito? Medyo pricey kasi mothers so i was thinking mas ok ang quality nito.

i started with just turtle wax products, then moved to megs, then mothers. after reading about microtex products here, mothers and microtex ginagamit ko alternately. pero di na ako mag replenish ng stock ng mothers products. mag microtex ako for weekly maintenance with collinite for monthly application.

i also maintain 3m and mothers scratch remover (to remove hairline scratches and swirl marks), turtle wax cleaner wax (for application sa mags, door sills, trunk, hood and other painted parts). Meron din akong Daiso Spray Wax, mothers clay bar set, and armour all spray QD (mas mura sa nano slig kaya eto na pampalit ko sa nano slig pang QD).

As you can see, once you get into it (pagiging tamang OC lang), you will keep on looking for products to suit your needs and before you know it, fileld up na ng detailing products yung garage cabinet mo. Sobrang damin pang ibang products available pero stick to the basic needs ka na lang depending on your budget. Pinaka importante, you always have on stock :

    1. paint cleaner/polish (kasi di maiiwasan ang oxidation, water marks and swirl marks) to prep up the paint.
    2. wax/LSP for protection
    3. Spray QD for quick clean up and waxing when you feel like doing it.
    4. Plenty of good quality microfiber towels and a couple of foam applicators (one for each step).
    5. California/microtex duster (pang araw araw na panlinis ng alikabok)

Iba pa po yung stocks mo for washing ang cleaning.

Tnx for the great info. Im actually satisfied with microtex products. From nanosil, nanoglos and nano sliq. Also their tireblack and sunsheild are very good. I do wax weekly due to everyday sun exposure of my car at work.

How about yung 3m performance finish? Anyone tried it?
