May 25th, 2007 09:56 PM #81that's right, hindi na nga si Danny ang may ari ng shop. last time i went there about a month or two ago, nagpaayos ako ng compressor. that's when i was told Danny had gone to Saudi na and the shop was bought out by some other party.
However, Danny's grandson (or nephew yata) was left behind. he was the one who worked on my car. he opened the compressor and told me certain parts needed to be replaced. "may tama na" daw. he got parts from other compressors to replace the parts in my compressor. satisfied naman ako so far. had i brought it to other shops, i think most would have told me to replace the compressor already.
in any case, hindi ko pa tried and tested talaga yung shop with the new owners. iba ka-deal si Danny kasi. he painstakingly explains everything to me. i will miss Danny's services. another good man lost to "greener pastures" abroad.

December 29th, 2012 10:27 AM #86For those asking about Danknee, Mang Danny now holds shop at the Sea Oil branch along Shaw/Pasig Boulevard near the entrance to Kawilihan Village. His contact number is 0949-9813304. He's a really decent and humble guy.

Finally, after almost 6 months w/ o any airconditioning in my van, i finally had it repaired.
I was very sceptical about bringing it to to any corner aircon repairshops knowing how some shops prey on the unsuspecting customer. I spent a lot of time doing research in the forums. The good repairshops were at least an hour or two (depending on traffic conditions). At one time, when I was at Jameson's in banawe i asked a shop to quote the repair cost. After checking the system for 5 mins, the verdict-----> the system is full of freon so the compressor must be damaged and replaced along with the evaporator, etc, etc. total quote was almost 12k.
Fast forward.... after reading the reviews on Danknee, I decided to give it a try since its only less than 30 mins from my office. He discoverd that there was zero freon in the system. He saw some black oil and said its possible there may be some damage to the compressor but not for sure.
The fix,.... charged the system w/ freon, changed 3 o -rings. and presto the van was cool again. Wheee!!. Not ice cold mind you but cool enough for a business van. I'll just have the system cleaned next time as per his recommendation to achieve the ice coldeness that everyone likes.
Kudos to this guy, he is low key, charges very very reasonbly for the work done and is honest about waht needs and doesnt need to be done

kompressor.... no I didnt have the time for that as I was on a tight sched. He did mention that black oil most almost always a harbringer of death for compressors but he gave it the benefit of the doubt. My van is a Townace.. so he said it "may" be that the riginal oil in Japan may be black.. (I wish of course).
But i appreciate that he didnt jump into the change the whole system thing right away and took time to look at alternatives.... I'll observe the a/c for a month and if its still ok by then, Ill goi into the schduled cleening and flushing of the whole system.....

June 24th, 2013 10:17 AM #90I went to Mang Danny at Seaoil based on the recommendations on this board and they are spot on -- Mang Danny is the best! My aircon was shutting off when hot and two shops said either busted na magnetic coil or compressor needs replacement (11K-20K estimates). Mang Danny diagnosed it as normal wear and tear on the pulley. He took off the pulley face from the compressor (while on the car so hindi nasayang freon) and removed a paper thin washer. With the new tighter tolerances, wala nang problema sa aircon! Mukhang sanay magbaklas ng compressor si Mang Danny. Very knowledgeable and maayos kausap -- he explains things to you very clearly. He even repaired my noisy fan by replacing the motor with a very clean surplus unit he had on-hand (insides looked brand new). All in all, less than 1K singil sa akin. Nag follow up pa one week after asking if everything was fixed. Highly recommended!
Actually, it was Philip Stuckey's car. Richard Geere's character was chauffeured around which was...
