I really appreciate the tips on repair shops in this forum of Tsikot.com. In return, I would like to share another trustworthy and reasonably priced car aircon repair shop called Danknee.

The shop is located on West Capitol Drive in Barrio Kapitolyo, Pasig. Maliit lang yung shop but don't let that fool you. It is owned and managed by Danny (0921-594-4645) who is a simple down-to-earth type but very knowledgeable about car aircons. I've had him repair my cars' aircons and I came away happy each time. I've also referred him to friends who found his work excellent and who now return to him for their car aircon problems.

He also does home service. Once, I referred him to a friend who owns a european car, the aircon of which ordinarily requires the dashboard to be dismantled in order to reach the aircon. My friend contacted Danny, who went to his condo and did what needed to be done and without dismantling the dashboard. Needless to say, my friend was very happy with the work as well as the fee charged him.

I am doing this to help Danny na rin who is a good guy (hindi manloloko at nangtataga sa singil) and who does good work. We need more guys like him around. Sana, for those of you who will try him, you will also be as happy with his work as I have been. You may tell him that Joey referred you to him if you do decide to try him. Hope this helps, especially the ones that live close to Kapitolyo.

heheh...i know...that's also why i posted it...if you're from pasig, you don't have to go to so far anymore, unless you prefer mang mario's service, of course...

Thanks jayelgee for sharing this. I've heard a lot about Mang Mario, the only thing that keeps me going there is the distance and the waiting because of the many customers. Pasig is closer.

Ano na ba ang mga pina repair mo sa kanya? Share naman for us Tsikoteers.

Asus700, madami na akong pinagawa over time - cleaning, leak test, pull down/replace evaporator/condenser/cooling coil, etc. Usually, punta ako dun when my aircon doesnt seem to get cold. Pero ang pinaka happy ako na pinagawa ko sa kanya was when I had probs with the aircon of my old corolla (1994 model). Yung bearing inside the aircon ang problema nun. Every other shop I went to said "replace compressor na yan". Si Danny lang ang nagsabing repairable pa. He dismantled the compressor (as in took it apart talaga ha), changed the defective bearing inside the compressor, and put it back together again. Nakita ko tuloy yung loob ng compressor, which is really mostly just a cavern of air. Hindi ko matandaan what he charged me since that was a long time ago. I think no more than P5k which is a far cry from the cost of a new compressor! And the compressor has continued to work fine up to now.

Don't take my word for it though. Try him out and see for yourself. Again, don't be discouraged by the looks of his place. Mahirap lang si Danny pero magaling and very knowledgeable. Kaya gusto ko rin siya matulungan by spreading the word around. I caught him before reading a book on refrigeration. Sa akin, that shows that he has initiative and updates himself whenever he can. He answers questions about car airconditioning with authority and somehow, you know that you are not being taken for a ride.

As I said in a previous post, I had recommended him to a friend who was also very happy with his work. He then recommended Danny to his friends too. So, hopefully, hindi ako mapapahiya sa inyo by recommending him here also. Maliit na tulong ko na rin sa kanya yun since he's a good fellow. Kailangan ko nga ipagawa sa kanya yung aircon ng Starex ko today.

    Hope this helps you guys.

Ningaskugon, the name of street his shop is on is West Capitol Drive. Coming from EDSA, take Shaw going towards Pasig until you hit the rotunda where you'll see a Petron station on your right, a street, and a BPI and Mercury Drug accross the street from Petron. That street is West Capitol Drive. Take West Capitol Drive and you will see DANKNEE on your left. Maliit yung sign, so be careful not to miss it. If you hit the next major intersection (w East Capitol Drive), lumagpas na kayo. Double back na lang.

ummm...do i have to follow the rotunda? i'd like my compressor to be checked up kase maingay eh...parang may secondary motor na umuungol pag nag auto-on ang aircon...

For those asking about Danknee, Mang Danny now holds shop at the Sea Oil branch along Shaw/Pasig Boulevard near the entrance to Kawilihan Village. His contact number is 0949-9813304. He's a really decent and humble guy.

Finally, after almost 6 months w/ o any airconditioning in my van, i finally had it repaired.

I was very sceptical about bringing it to to any corner aircon repairshops knowing how some shops prey on the unsuspecting customer. I spent a lot of time doing research in the forums. The good repairshops were at least an hour or two (depending on traffic conditions). At one time, when I was at Jameson's in banawe i asked a shop to quote the repair cost. After checking the system for 5 mins, the verdict-----> the system is full of freon so the compressor must be damaged and replaced along with the evaporator, etc, etc. total quote was almost 12k.

Fast forward.... after reading the reviews on Danknee, I decided to give it a try since its only less than 30 mins from my office. He discoverd that there was zero freon in the system. He saw some black oil and said its possible there may be some damage to the compressor but not for sure.

The fix,.... charged the system w/ freon, changed 3 o -rings. and presto the van was cool again. Wheee!!. Not ice cold mind you but cool enough for a business van. I'll just have the system cleaned next time as per his recommendation to achieve the ice coldeness that everyone likes.

Kudos to this guy, he is low key, charges very very reasonbly for the work done and is honest about waht needs and doesnt need to be done
