When you had it "fix" instead of "remove and replace" failed parts.
    It is neglect.

...sounds to me like some casa's motto... heh heh.
there are times when you can actually effectively repair a part, bringing it back to reliable use..

Actually automotive technicians here are trained this way. To remove and replace.
Maybe you are fortunate to have a section that will calibrate, certify, and re certify parts.
How many mechanics have proper training in metrology?
You are very lucky you have access to proper instruments that you can repair a part
    back to reliable use.
As for us out there, we remove and replace and that is it.
Surplus or oem, so long that it still works.

nope, all we had was ordinary mechanics' tools. we tried to fix parts that we could, so we can use them again. you know... clean, solder or weld, un-bend, bend, adjust clearance, sandpaper, re-paint.. nothing major. no, we did not re-manufacture them. and we did it for two reasons: first, because it was challenging and fun; and two, we didn't have money to buy new parts. heh heh.

They replaced the water pump, so they finally found where the problem started.
I have seen this countless times, once at start up the pump breaking right in front of me,
Corroded water pumps which may be due
To that kwentong barbero, `only use water.` Nakaka sira daw ang coolant.
