bakit pala ayaw ng ibang tao yung reflective tints? sorry Dont have any experience yet, but on my mind, I think it really helps on providing additional privacy, since whenever I saw one on the street, I cannot really see the people inside.
IMO hindi bagay sa kotse nila yung ganun tint kaya hindi nila gusto

    Points to consider:
    1. Looks dark on the outside but provides good visibility on the inside esp. at night (and, if possible no reflective properties)
    2. Budget is 3-5K only
    3. It should go well with my 3M fx20 (medium dark) on my windshield (i dont plan to replace it), and
    4. in case you need car type - it's a black sedan.

Q pala - Are there other variants of "magic" tint that looks like a super/dark/med black (oh, 10-30 will do ) on the outside, but with clear visibility inside (with no reflective properties and stuff)? Im guessing the answer is none but who knows. ;)

I also cosidered below options but please feel free to to give your feedback -

A - Most forumers suggest 2-layer tints- mostly a combination of magic (outside) and darker (inside) films. What's the outcome of this - Is it still reflective on the outside? Will this ans. point 1? Can somebody post a picture pls it will be very much appreciated. TIA.

B - Would it be possible to do a 2-layer, but with the med to dark film on the outside and light(?) magic on the inside? It doesnt sound right, I know, but this is to achieve (hopefully) point no. 1...

Please feel free to suggest some more if deemed necessary.

    Thanks in advance.
Try the BC series from 3M.

you mentioned you won't go for OEM series anymore, pwede malaman kung bakit? around 30% ang price difference ng OEM sa Signature. (based on SRP)
comparing the specifications. OEM 05 has the best specs because it's the darkest. any lighter then the signature series OR the more expensive ones are better.

huper optik's ceramic series is slightly reflective but its ceramic so it won't interfere with your wireless/radio devices.

depends sa tint brand you want. solarguard seems to be a popular replacement for 3M..

Nagpa-quote ako sa main office ng V-Kool. Sabi nila medium SUV na daw yung Sportage 9.9K yung wraparound ng V-Kool K Signature Series.

Baka mag-Solar Gard na rin ako. 5K lang wraparound ng HP Charcoal series.

My apologies, but I have tried to read thru the thread, but so many posts are half English half Tagalog that I get lost. The wife and I are buying a new Hyundai Accent. The dealer offers free tint, but all the agent can tell me is that the following is available:

She said that it is 3m Tint they are providing for the new cars...
    * Magic neutral= usually installed for windshield
    * Magic Black= mirror typed tint
    * Super Black= tint with the darkest shade
    * Medium Black= next in line with super black

Do any of those color names suggest that the tint is CR or BC or CS or FXST? The dealer is 2 1/2 hours away from where I live and she can't seem to tell me which tint style/class they give as a freebie.

I think the tints given as freebies in dealers are just the fx type.

I'm quite sure that you are right Bin.I am trying to decide on whether to pass on the free tint and have better quality installed,or go ahead and take the free tint and then upgrade later.

Anybody know if you are charged for removing old tint when upgrading to a higher quality?

as far as I know, most of them won't charge for removing the tint. The problem lies with the removal of the said tint placed on your rear windshield. if not done carefully, the removal process will also include the defogger (copper-like lines).

my suggestion for you would be pass up the free Tint and haggle some other freebies :D

Before may bubbles din tint ko sa windshield but after a while nawala din.

Hi! I'm a newbie here and I've been reading this thread for advice on what tint to get. I already have a CASA installed 3M tint pero kitang kita ako sa loob! I'm a lady driver and I want a darker tint for safety reasons but I'm worried that it might be hard to see at night. So far, I'm leaning towards Solargard or 3M because they get a lot of good reviews and they're not that expensive. But idk which shade to get. Any recommendations? Thanks!

if you have a sunglasses with a lighter shade, try to use one when driving at night. More importantly, try it when it is raining.

It will more or less give you an idea if you can tolerate a darker shade for the rear windshield and window glass.

anyone here can post a google map for the solargard/vkool dealer sa ortigas? yung may sariling tint room.

Go for 3M Black Chrome or the equivalent Solargard tint (I keep forgetting the name). If your goal is privacy + outside visibility, you should get those with visible light transmission between 20 and 35. That's usually the number after the tint (i.e. BC35, VK60, CS20, etc). Also, you should get a lighter shade for your windshield.

Since magpapa-retint ka na lang din, check the heat rejection rates if you do decide on something to maximize your purchase. The 3M BC is good enough though.

What's the best car tint brand and color?
