thank you sir for the advise, kaya lang ay nakapagpakabit na ko ng full windshield tint kahapon sa solargard santolan eh, 2000 pesos for the charcoal 22, ramdam naman yung improvement sa loob ng car for the heat reduction.....

I was in the area of Cash and Carry makati when I just checked out the prices of tints for my van.. (front and back windshields, 4 doors plus 2 more for the third row windows) total of 6 windows and 2 windshields.

I was quoted by this shop 5,500php for all including removal of my casa installed tints which currently is starting to bubble and some scratched areas na din.

I was quite amazed with the Solar Guard tints where you get in to a booth then some high watt bulbs are pointed to you where you can feel its heat. where a glass with solar guard provides a significant lesser heat feeling.

This shop said 'wag ka na mag solar guard.. mas maganda 3M same price' where they also have that 'Master Tintero' 2nd place banner on their shop.

so is that true? mas maganda nga ba ang 3M? versus Solar Guard?

Im aiming for maximum heat rejection.. and less visible of persons inside the vehicle.. tapos front windshield that is still safe for night travel.. (since i always drive at night).. and most especially not making a big hole in my pocket.

Solargard's GSG10 is very good..I can attest to that. Meron din silang BSB10 but special order daw eto. may bronze efect, brownish ang dating. GSG kasi is Grey/Silver/Grey, maganda eto sa sides and rear pero sa gabi in an area where it is not well lit, better baba windows or have someone directs you when you park sa madlilin na area. Madilim talaga eto for my experience pero sa tag-araw, malamig. Sanayan lang naman pag tumagal na. The film is thick by the way.

Sa windshield ko, not totally satisfied LX40 series nila. I was really hoping na maganda eto but in reality didn't get what i paid for! i was back reading the thread hoping to get some feedbacks re Solargards LX series kasi hindi ako masyado babad sa mga ganitong forums but none so far have shared some light sa LX series na ito!
Me and my wife sometimes contemplate if we were given a fake one kasi iba talaga nong pinaliwanag sa amin before installing it. Meron pa ngang high watt bulb like mentioned above to test & let you feel the difference among your choices of tint before have it installed. Kaso it didn't live to my expectation nung tumagal na. Mainit pa din, I though it would give minimal heat sa dashbord when driving but hindi! So you can imagine nka park ang car under the sun?! Bumili na nga lang ako nung di tuping ilagay sa harap ng windshield(forgot the name??)
By the way, pang apat na tint na ito pinakabit ko sa windshield kaya alam ko talaga the difference. I did complain to them na bakit ganito but they said maraming factors why i get the heat, keso malapad daw windshield ng Jazz at some heat comes from the bakal of the car which is total BS!
1st tint: CASAs free 3M tint (total crap)
2nd tint: SG Titanium 16 ( a/c vents directed to your arms or hand) INIT
3rd tinti: SG GSG10 (sobrand dilim sa gabi !!)
4th tinit: SG LX40 (not happy)
damage sa LX40 alone Php9800 at Solargard Santolan

If you are in Alabang area, sa ATC near the church mga naka hilerang car shops you can find Solargard Alabang. May signage sila on top of their shop so cannot be easily missed. HTH.

maganda ba or pangit ang lumina. nagpakabit kasi ako sa fx ko recently, magic tint dark on the sides, neutral sa harap. di ko makita ang side mirror sa gabi so pinalagyan ko ng bilog sa tapat ng side mirrors LOL. talaga bang dapat sanayin ang mata sa tint? dati kasi ang dali ko lang mag park sa garahe ng haws namin, ngayon it took me time kasi nga di na gaya ng dati na kita ko lahat sa likod ko! nagkamali ba ako ng pagpili ng brand ng tint? (2500 ang nagastos ko sa lumina). or nagkamali lang ako ng pagpili ng shade (dapat ba ay medium lang pinili ko instead na black?). lahat ba ng mga may tint nakaka encounter ng hirap sa pag turn when driving? sorry for my stupid questions he he he. the only advantage i have ryt now w/ this tint is madali lumamig ang loob ng sasakyan ko. yun lang parang ayoko na mag drive sa gabi dahil di ako makakita masyado

    Sirs,

I need to replace my super black tints sa sides and back for safety reasons. Help naman mga sirs.

    Points to consider:
    1. Looks dark on the outside but provides good visibility on the inside esp. at night (and, if possible no reflective properties)
    2. Budget is 3-5K only
    3. It should go well with my 3M fx20 (medium dark) on my windshield (i dont plan to replace it), and
    4. in case you need car type - it's a black sedan.

Q pala - Are there other variants of "magic" tint that looks like a super/dark/med black (oh, 10-30 will do ) on the outside, but with clear visibility inside (with no reflective properties and stuff)? Im guessing the answer is none but who knows. ;)

I also cosidered below options but please feel free to to give your feedback -

A - Most forumers suggest 2-layer tints- mostly a combination of magic (outside) and darker (inside) films. What's the outcome of this - Is it still reflective on the outside? Will this ans. point 1? Can somebody post a picture pls it will be very much appreciated. TIA.

B - Would it be possible to do a 2-layer, but with the med to dark film on the outside and light(?) magic on the inside? It doesnt sound right, I know, but this is to achieve (hopefully) point no. 1...

Please feel free to suggest some more if deemed necessary.

    Thanks in advance.

Sir IMHO I would not recommend double layers ng tint, lalo na kapag dark shade.

The 3M FX Series looks dark enough, parang medium ata yung sa windshield niyo. I'd recommend SolarGard na Titanium series 16 shade (medium) or if you want yung 6 shade (super black). Tried and tested on my FD in strong rains, night drive.

^ i agree to avoid the double layers ng tint. Just get the one with the exact specs you need.

^^ i recommend huper optik brand if you have cash to spare. kaso pag best value, i'd go for v-kool. pasok sa budget un v-kool OEM5 series. medyo reflective nga lang, but visibility is good enough and specs are very good.

if i had another chance, i personally would go for something lighter maybe 10%-15% visible light transmission kaso i wouldn't go for OEM series anymore.

    for reference:

    WS - huper optik CS30 (5k)
    Windows - v-kool OEM05 (2k+)
    Back - 3M BC35 (free)

What would be the cons with having double tint layers?

I wouldn't suggest double layers in front, coz it will not be as clear as a single layer of similar darkness. But on the sides and rear, I think the (less) visibility is acceptable for the sake of not being seen from the outside.

double the chance of mistakes? double the price?

IMHO, the 5% visible light transmission series of several brands are dark enough not to be seen from outside. tapos tints with warranties do not cover double tint layers.

furthermore, if you are willing to pay for the extra price, why not go for the huper optik CS05, it's multi-layered already, quite thick and visibility from inside is not as compromised as having two layers of tints.

    just saying

Di kasi ako satisfied sa nilagay ng toyota casa sa sides at back na tint, and since walang tint ang windshiield pinalagyan ko ng quantum 19. I have 3 questions.

    1. Tingin nyo papatungan ko na lang ng quantum tint yung 3m bc35 or patanggal ko na lang muna then kabit ng quantum 14.
    2. What are the dangers of removing tint from back with defogger and printed antenna? Di kaya magloko or matanggal yung defogger and antenna?
    3. Anybody had quantum all around their windows, ano effect nito sa fm transmitter am/fm reception, pati sa gps? Metal elements kasi yung quantum eh.

    1. bc35 + q14, the result might be too dark

    2. walang guarantee that your defogger will not be damaged.

    3. don't have quantum but afaik, vkool has metallic properties too. no effect naman to my wireless devices, although my windshield tint is ceramic..

you mentioned you won't go for OEM series anymore, pwede malaman kung bakit? around 30% ang price difference ng OEM sa Signature. (based on SRP)

    additional query:
bakit pala ayaw ng ibang tao yung reflective tints? sorry Dont have any experience yet, but on my mind, I think it really helps on providing additional privacy, since whenever I saw one on the street, I cannot really see the people inside.

sabi kasi sir yung reflective na element sa tint eh yung metallic, which causes interruption sa mga signal ng devices, may isa nagpatint ng reflective all around, ayun di na gumana yung gps nya sa loob ng kotse.

What's the best car tint brand and color?
