The West waiting for HongKong to spin into this direction...

'We are at war': Chile's Pinera extends state of emergency | Sebastian Pinera News | Al Jazeera

Five people were killed on Sunday when a garment factory was torched by looters near Chile's capital, Santiago, bringing the death toll in a wave of unrest to seven as authorities expanded a state of emergency.

Earlier, Chadwick said two women burned to death after a store owned by US retail chain Walmart was set alight in the early hours of Sunday.

One victim, who authorities initially said had died in hospital, suffered burns on 75 percent of her body.

yan ang ineexpect at gusto makita ng US -- ung bloody tianamen-style crackdown

para may excuse sila mag intervene

China ain't gonna give the US that pleasure

    --

kunwari the US cares about the safety of pro-democracy protesters pero they wish China would run over the protesters with tanks

    it's all about politics/ideology

We were in Barcelona when the protests started (kaya pala daming fully armored police who greeted us at the train station). We even walked pass the protests several times and they're peaceful naman. We stayed where the protesters congregate to start their march. Very peaceful talaga and we did not see the violence shown in the news.

But still, we decided to cut our trip short and left Barcelona 2 days ahead. Baka ma-trap kami on the way to the airport since ang original alis namin is Friday, the day of the general strike. Looking back, hindi naman nacancel original flight namin.

Ang mahal kasi ng Big Mac sa mga bansang yan, eh dito less than P200 pa din combo meal pa

When I was in Salzburg last year, Big Mac is like P400 ala carte, P600 combo with coke and fries.

Imagine the strain of young people trying to a eat a decent cheapest meal at P400 kagad

I consider Big Mac the cheapest true food, kasi talagang beef and gulay yun unlike the lesser mcdo burger meals na puro fillings

Tingen ko talaga magkarun ng world wide disruption of some sort.

The plder gen na bwiset sa millennials would invest on AI and robots to do the jobs , instead of understanding millennials. millennials will become more hungry coz of their attitude, then protest.

Sana sa 2060 na lang mag war, wala na siguro ako nun. Wala naman ako anak so

i agree with you there's going to be some sort of disruption or reset

    RESET OF CIVILIZATION

the developed world is no longer growing

they have too much debt and their population is aging

they're not making enough new people (for their workforce) to replace those getting older (dropping out of workforce)

your economy cannot grow when your workforce is shrinking

you see it in Japan, in Europe

    gonna happen in America

Japan and Europe have negative interest rates but they still can't stimulate growth

US interest rates is going to zero

something's going on and the endgame isn't gonna be pretty

Something is really wrong with the capitalistic setup. Look at this video of unsold new cars piling up all over the world

    * they wont sell it at a loss nor give it away coz it will affect the sales of new models
    * they ‘d rather buy vacant airstrips or big lots to rot these cars
    * they cant stop production coz that means many jobs will be lost

So given this scenario, prices of cars today are overpriced. New models need to be more expensive than older ones. They have to anchor it older stocks. Economies of scale naman talaga ang mass production but cars today seem to be getting more expensive and yet more robots are replacing humans in the production line.

It’s all about greed to portray a healthy business pero so many wastes.

And to make matters worst, millennials choose not to buy newer cars anymore coz they know this and they cant afford it anyway. They cant even even afford to open a bank account.

So banks entice them with low downs or no downs, and still they cant pay.

and then There’s climate disturbance. Most of these unsold new cars used natural resources to mine metals, cut trees, strip cow leather skins. And only to be left rotting in a hidden undisclosed place somewhere. Tsk tsk

And we wonder why China ‘s influence is growing, well socialism will possibly replace capitalism if these activities dont stop

kulang yung analysis mo eh.. you looked at the big mac.. pero dapat you look at the daily minimum wage sa country..

sa Pinas.. say 600 minimum wage, tapos 200 ang big mac.. so sa minimum wage.. 3 big macs lang mabibili mo..

sa sinsasabi mo sa Salzburg, Austria yan diba? 1500 Euro minimum per month.. so mga 57 Euro per day minimum.. tapos 6 euro big mac? so sa isang araw you can still buy 9 to 10 big macs sa minimum wage nila..

    debt saturation

    there's already too much debt

    there's no demand

central banks have lowered interest rates to stimulate demand (make people borrow and spend) but there's already too much debt people can't take on any more debt

what central banks have done is make the rich richer

super low interest rates encouraged corporations to borrow but they didn't spend on expanding businesses and hire more workers and raise salaries

they used the money on stock buybacks (that's what supported stock prices all these years)

asset prices went up making asset holders richer (the poor don't have assets so ultra-loose monetary policy never benefited them)

    --

the top 1% lives off the yield of the 99%

they pay labor a few cents for every dollar worth of work

    that's the system

the top will keep extracting yield from the bottom until it can't yield anymore

like a rider beating a tired horse... di na talaga kaya eh

    so what happens then?

what are you gonna do with millions and millions of people?

crash the system -- global reset

    WW3

    millions are gonna die

    then start over

    Sorry OT na

There are trillions of dollars worth of local debt in the domestic capital market in China. And the US Trade War is causing a lot of businesses to default on their loans, which could mean a slowdown in the local economy.

Unrest in HK actually contributes to a potential slowdown in the Chinese economy, as HK is a gateway both for its seaport and its airport, which is a major hub.

Growth for China will not go past 7% this year, and the last time that happened was in the early 1990's.

This should be a great time to check out HK, before the whole enchilada breaks down in 2020.

China growth will be sub 6% going forward

China was slowing even before the trade war

the trade war is only making it worse

    Sounds very familiar....

How Chile Went From an Economic Star to an Angry Mess

Chile, a country of about 18 million people, has been one of the fastest-growing in the region for years, according to the World Bank. While the country has made great strides in reducing poverty in recent decades, many Chileans are deeply indebted, and the level of income inequality is one of the highest in the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, a club of 36, mostly rich countries. Household debt is rising and the savings rate is falling, while unemployment and pension payments are at the low end of the scale among the world’s wealthy nations. At the same time, political parties have done a poor job of channeling discontent.

    no it doesn't trickle down

the problem in hk is easy to fix.

china must blame the problem to carrie lang and all those who voted in favor of the extradition to china, then execute them, and let hk have a free elections.

sacrifice nila si carrie lang, hong kong will then be good. important kasi is their financial center out of red china must still be considered a go to place, wherein redchekwas or pro redchekwas cannot, must not rule.

problem tigas ulo ng redchekwa eh, self centered arse din, patigasan sila, di nila alam isang araw mga non red chekwa magigising and will find out they out number them a million to one, so kahit magubsan ng bala redchewa to kill the non red chekwa eh kukulangin sila ng bala

Bakit ba galit ang HK sa extradition law? Hindi ba dapat matakot lang sila if may krimen silang ginawa outside HK?

Just today, na release na from prison yung nang murder ng preggy gf niya in Taiwan, but no murder case filed since sa Taiwan nangyari. He's only charged with money laundering in HK.

He's a free man now!!! Murderer is free because walang extradition law..

And there is the social media, how else do disgruntled masses organize into a leaderless gathering... Same way the Arab Spring happened. But we know how bad that turned out....

Hong Kong, Chile, Lebanon: Global protests are fueled by deeper discontent - CNN

Experts say we are seeing a tipping point of ordinary people fed up with measures imposed from above by a ruling class.

In the Spanish city of Barcelona, pro-independence protesters have been using encrypted messaging to communicate with counterparts in Hong Kong, according to Julie Norman, a teaching fellow in Politics and International Relations at University College London.

Furious protests took place across Catalonia last week, triggered by the lengthy prison sentences handed to pro-independence politicians on October 14.

Norman said the Hong Kong and Catalan groups have been sharing tactics for dealing with police, and invoking each other's struggles at rallies.

Ang problema kasi sa mga millennials nagka smartphone lang gusto shortcut sa trabaho.

Its classic case of activists in UP non 90s reading do many books about everything tapos walang ginawa kungdi sisihin ang mga matatanda na bskit hinde ganun ang buhay by the book, same as RAM boys and Magdalo, galit sa mga General nila at nag rebelde, only to find out themselves na pagtanda nila sila din , nag kanya kanya racket, diba yun Napoles asawa ng RAM yun and her first customers were RAM ,

Millenials have to accept that the internet, tablet and smartphonex are just you daily fairytale book fix, the ideal world. Pero rarely does it happen in the real world of broken people with broken dreams, broken families and even obesity.

Soon the millennials will be obese, and they will realize na kaya pala ganun ang matatanda, mayabanv pero may inferiority complex, coz life will drain the living F! Out of you with also the people arounc you whether family or old friends

Kaya phase lang yan mga protests na yan, so that the next gen, the Gen Z will see how the millennials are a lost causw, ebroken gen of ideals na walang actual implementation

Im betting on the Gen Z , and im studying the Gen Z charscteristics now so that i will know how to lead them and inspire them

Millennials are like alternative music generation of 90s America, like Pearl Jam, Nirvana, etc, sa music nila puros sakit and complain.

The Gen Z is the key.
