do you people know how this all started?

early last year a 19 yr old HK guy and his 20 yr old HK gf went to Taiwan

The guy returned to HK without the gf

turned out he killed his gf and stuffed her body in a suitcase and dumped it near a subway station in Taipei

since the crime happened in Taiwan the guy had to be sent to Taiwan for trial but there was no extradition treaty

so early this year nagkaroon ng proposal for extradition treaty

eh mga HK people praning (paranoid) when it comes to China

para sa HK people that would give China overseas reach (extradition treaties work both ways)

    THAT'S HOW IT ALL STARTED

it started with a murder in Taiwan

    di niyo alam yun no?

There's a saying in Filipino -- "Pag ayaw, maraming dahilan. Pag gusto maraming paraan."

Case in point -- our very own Conchita Carpio-Morales and Alberto Del Rosario were denied entry to into HK under China's iexplicit nstructions. Various valid reasons were given to explain the denial of entry. But people knew, people knew it was the lamest of excuses. But sill "valid".

What's my point? I think China can come up with a creative way to detain this murderer beyond October if it really wanted to, even without that extradition bill. Something that will be "valid". They've been doing it for years -- how many countless trump-up charges have the motherland imposed on many many of its perceived enemies? And you're telling me they can't come up with one that will detain this criminal in their backyard longer than necessary? Highly doubt it.

They are using this murderer as a pawn and they are willing to sacrifice true justice in order to turn the tide of support to their side. Shame on these monsters. My opinion.

Brooklyn Nets beat LA Laker 114 - 111 in Shanghai. Decent crowd despite attempts by the government to have people boycott the sold out game.

Hahaha, this is proof na di hawak ng chinese government ang mga tao nila, so meron pa rin sila freedom to choose.

if you book just a week ahead, mas malaking discount makukuha... Do a mock reservation at your usual hotel.

international readers include pinoys who ONLY get their news from western media

many pinoys already have a pro-US / anti-China bias so reading/watching western coverage of HK events reinforces their bias

Ooookkkk, BTT na po tayo....ok naman situation sa HK, not what I expected when I arrived this morning, don't know kung sa gabi kung ano situation and tomorrow or on Sunday, but I'm back in my hotel to rest my feet sa kakasama shopping ni misis, there's a few mainlander pa rin but not as many as before, may mga pinoy din and some other foreigners, shops are quite empty but not apple, grabe daming tao sa loob, buti na lang may stock yung pinapabili ng barkada ko, it's cheaper here compared sa srp sa pinas, if you plan to go to HK and don't want too many people (especially mainlander), now is the time, so Doc, punta ka na dito, siguro weekdays lang hehehe.

HK protesters should heed what this German guy said --

“He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster . . "
    ― Friedrich Nietzsche

China is the monster now, but later on, it could be them. Violence begets violence. Be alert and vigilant so you don't turn into the thing you hate the most.
