Eh unahan lang naman sa experience yan, if you can experience the newly open restos, travel and mga sosyal na damit utangin mo na coz baka hinde mo na makuuha pa if you work ass off later in life,

Mali talaga sistema sa mundo, the Gen X babied too much of their children only to face our world with higher prices and cost of living.

Kung ako magkaanak, i-train ko sya like Batman not yun kung pano pinalaki ang mga millennials, so hayun puros hugot ang nangyari.

The world is never a pleasant place no matter how the parents paint it. ItÂ’s a very cruel world where self-interests are the true dominant emotion. After self-interest, is the race. The race to experience first, as what ai mentioned above,

Pay yourself first, yan ang sinabi ni Kiyosaki na hinde-hinde ko makakalimutan when I read his book during my 20s. Now Kiyosaki is close to being locked up, and most of his disciples are materialistic old Gen Xers who accumulated stuff of no value .

    —

Now the millenials know that what they read everyday in the internet hinde nila ma experience in real life coz the numbers wont match, and that is why nag rerevolt sila.

basically young people are angry at old people for screwing up the world

    -

eto explain ko ung American setting

2008 financial crisis -- that's when American millenials entered the workforce

idealistic young people feeling very optimistic thinking they could conquer the world... and boom!

    bagsak ang US economy

so they're not making a lot of money

and because of financial constraints, American millenials are delaying life transitions

like moving out (many American millenials are still living with their parents)

they can't afford to buy a house so they also can't get married and start their own families

they're not making milestones sa buhay nila

    no wonder they're unhappy

True (though my reference is Twitter). Not just on HK, but also LGBT, jeepney modernization, activism, misogyny and ***ism, even Isko Moreno.

Millennials have also been priced out of the housing market. With current prices, you'd need a salary of about 300-500k a month to afford a house in a previously middle-class subdivision.

Income inequality has also worsened, even if we have a growing middle class.

Basta ako may kitchen + dining, dojo room / studio , bedrroom, walk in closet bedroom, bathroom, 3 car garage, utility room. Sala nga nag iisip pa ako kung kelangan pa, like ano couch potato, tataba. Watching random TV is most wasteful time of your life.

Bedroom nga namin walang closeT kasi ayaw ko ng dust mites coming from the clothes, shoes.

Besides a big house has higher RPT, higher maintenance

and which is why i keep telling people it's not the nominal amount of money you're making that matters but the relative amount

i mean if people around you are making 300k to 500k a month and you're making under 100K, you're gonna be left behind

those making more money than you will bid up all the nice things

then you'll have to settle for lower quality goods and services which those richer than you won't touch

Hindi ko naman gusto ng malaking bahay. Location is a bigger priority than size. I just want a house with a garden for my dog to run around and at least a 2 car garage. That's doable with a 250-300 sqm house - which is the usual cut for (previously) middle-class villages.

Unfortunately, most villages 30 min away from BGC/Makati have skyrocketed in pricing.

Lumaki income ng iilan (either katas ng pogo or crony ni Digs), enough to raise prices of prime locations. But the income level of most has stagnated - meaning that their 30k average income today is less than it was worth x years ago.

Net, trickle down economics does not work and the current economic situation squeezes the middle and lower class while the rich get richer.

This is true not just for the Philippines but for many other nations as well, and is a stimulus for the current wave of revolts happening around the world.

yes trickle down doesn't work but policy-makers still listen to economists who advocate trickle down economics

wealth/income gap widened a lot after the 2008 financial crisis coz developed world central banks loosened monetary policy resulting in asset price inflation

since asset holders are mostly rich people their wealth skyrocketed

PH was a beneficiary of foreign central banks' accomodative policy coz $$$ flowed to emerging markets in search of higher returns

a lot of $$$ flowed into PH financial assets causing PHP to strengthen (recall USDPHP = 40)

Pinoy billionaires saw their net worth skyrocket as their companies' stock prices went up

some of that money trickled down to highly paid employees of the 1% but didn't reach lower levels

    asset prices went up globally

in relation to this topic, HK real estate prices went up to the moon

causing ordinary Hkers unable to afford a flat

    -

in HK/China culture, you're only an eligible man if you own your own flat

kung wala, you don't get married

alam mo kasi juts, pre-cursor na to isang malaking great depression then world war.

ganito ganito nangyari nun 1918 (after world war 1 ) to 1929 stock market crash tapos nagkarun ng Great Depression, most young people then can't afford to buy a house, lahat renting and subjected to the whims of the elite. the young did not take this well, and there was strong resentment against elite, of which nagkanda letse letse na

di naman siguro mag-gyera by 2040 to 2045 as was 1940 to 1945, Im predicting it would start 2060 above

so given all this data, mag-aspire ka pa ba ng house and lot, na ma-destroy din once the World War 3 happens.

enjoy nyo na lang sarile nyo and your wife and yun condo nyo ngaun na post mo ,

wala eh, di ko maintindihan kumbakit ang mahal ng real estate ngaun considering na we have so much unused land as compared to HK or Singapore . so artificially pinalalaki talaga.

when they allowed the Chinese to enter here, and live here, just to bloat the real estate prices. All they care about is doubling or tripling their projects income regardless kung dayuhan na ang maninirahan

we are just slaves of the elite. pero, we can be classy slaves.
