In one of the episode of the mythbusters, i remember jamie and adam doing all sorts of stuff like putting up reflective mirrors, painting the whole car black etc.... just to evade the speed gun but to no avail.

Window tint may reduce the laser/radar signals before it reaches the detector (in the same way it reduces signal to e-tags/easy-trip).

RADAR - metalized window film may reduce radar signals by reflection.
LASER - window film may reduce the amount of laser light by reflecting or absorbing it.

Although my car is tinted, it does not use metalized tints nor do I have my front windshield tinted. This maximizes the potential reception from the front and I can still get radar signals from sides and rear (although I do not know the degree of signal reduction from my sides and rear).

Kindly note that the MYTHBUSTERS episode was based on RADAR based speed traps. They did not cover LASER based systems.

LINK: Valentine One radar and laser detectors

    $400

Locally, I don't know if anyone is selling it here.

The problem with V1, they haven't released any updated products for a couple of years as compared to other brands. So does it still compare well with the competition?

On NLEX yesterday, an LC100 (with bike rack and bike) came barreling down the road at full speed. Ayun, huli siya sa tollgate (kala niya lusot siya with his ECTag). :police:

Last week, it was a Porsche driven by a elderly man who was being ticketed at the EC tag lane as well.

The radar guys seem to be picking good hiding spots as it's two weeks in a row that I've seen them apprehending at the toll gate with no patrol vehicles seen from the side (unless it's the one i saw parked at the opposite side of the highway, or they changed their unmarked vehicles already).

hassle grabe. i was at lto today at 1pm, was let in at 1:30pm, my number got called at 2:30pm, paid the fine 5 minutes later (P1,277.36), waited till 3pm for the exam, then seminar (video actually) at the same time. finally got my license back at almost 5pm.

    i need a radar detector/jammer!

Welcome to the club 1277.36, bro...

I was running around 110 to 120 km/hr. At Batangas City exit after I gave the card and payment to the cashier, she had a weird look on her face. She then reread her screen for a few seconds. Then she looked around. I think she was looking for someone possibly the guys who give tickets. No one was around. After another second, she gave me my change and receipt. Got out as soon as I could.

I read my receipt, did not notice anything strange on it.

nlex and sctex sa lto main east avenue.

star, sorry 1 have no idea.
