April 17th, 2007 10:58 AM #452sad to say, i was given a ticket last sunday at nlex southbound for overspeeding at 124km/h daw somewhere between sta. rita and bocaue. when i reached bocaue toll plaza, there were 2 patrolmen flagging down vehicles. they have your car make and plate no. written on a folded piece of bond paper. There were at least 30 cars written on that sheet so you can imagine how many were speeding. i'm pretty sure , though, that they weren't able to apprehend all of them as they only covered the left side of the plaza and his 2-way radio was still squawking off additional offenders. wala ako magawa but to accept under protest.
i'm pretty sure i never went beyond 110km/h and had stayed well below 100km/h most of the time because i had my family with me and i'm always extra careful when we're together.
i did notice a parked patrol pick-up supposedly helping a car with its hood up but i can't recall exactly where. i guess i have to make allowance for the car's speedo but i still have to ask if the radar they use is calibrated regularly and what is its accuracy.
i have to get my license form LTO east ave wednesday morning pa. so mga peeps, drive safely...

One key to not get caught, is to go with the crowd. That way if they target you, you could say it could have been another car since you were in a crowd, at bakit ikaw ang pinag iinitan.

Wow!.. ganitong ganito din nangyari sa akin. sa bocaue din ako na-flag down ng patrolmen. Although I went beyond the speed limit, I was not aware that meron palang mga radars. Kasalanan ko din talaga.
Badtrip lang is when you get na your ticket, minsan aabutin ng 3 weeks bago ko kinuha yung sa akin sa LTO main. Paid a sum of 500++. di pa kasama dun yung 300 na lagay para hindi ako mag seminar. Tip: better go early at LTO, mas maganda pag monday ng umaga para mabilis. 3x ako pabalik balik kasi di agad nadadala yung lisensha natin dun. Pa tatakan nyo yung tiket ng extension kung wala pa yung lisensha.
Kaya mula nun nag ingat na talaga ako, I always make sure na di na ako lalagpas sa limit. Hassle yun pag tubos ng license.

wag na lang tayo mag speeding, limit our speeds to 100-115 kph. Actually at those speeds, overspeeding na talga tayo kasi yung signboard on some stretches of the NLEX says it's 80KPH max.
saka give due consideration to the other motorists who are running at 60-70KPH either because yun lang kaya ng sasakyan nila or because yun lang kaya ng lakas ng loob nila. I used to speed sa NLEX up to 140KPH, pero later on, I found out na minimal lang ang time savings if I go 100 vs. going 140KPH. But the dangers and risks increases by more than twofold or threefold pa siguro given that mere 40KPH difference in speeds. Imagine a vehicle running at, say 130KPH hitting a vehicle running at 60KPH... It's like a vehicle running at 70 KPH hitting a stationary object. Potential total disaster scenario

point taken. very dangerous nga and won't do it again.
been trying 190-200 on some stretches sa nlex (just to max out the car's performance) pag nauwi kami sa probins. OT, saan may malapit na track where safe to floor the pedal??
i guess i have been lucky. won't test my luck anymore. i'd stay safe at the max speed.

April 27th, 2007 07:56 AM #459just got my license back from LTO yesterday. went in at 8:30am and finished at 11:45am. would have protested my violation of overspeeding but when i got there and saw the number of people lining up, i decided not to contest nlang. didn't want to make 'lagay' so i went through the whole red tape deal.
paid PHP577.63. the process is pretty smooth considering the number of peeps. the only holdback is the seminar(a/v presentation) and exam which took almost 2 hours. the exam is in Pilipino so if you're not well-versed in Tagalog, sorry nlang...there are questions on hand signalsand truck axle loadings
and the clean air act - questions which, of course, were never covered by the a/v presentation
. you have to pass 45 out of 60 questions. dami nag-retake and this is where most of the 'fixing' happens.
checking and preparation of your certificate takes almost an hour.
so if you get caught, better prepare to lose half a day...
