* Yes the Dalian trains did exceed the allowable weight limit in the contract drafted by the DOTC.
* The DOTC drafted the specifications based on RT8D5M but powered by AC propulsion system.
* However, DC is different from AC, so the components are different too.
* RT8D5M body construction is different, both RT8D5M and 8MLB are made from Stainless steel car body but below the body, they are totally different.
- RT8D5M's floor are made from series of metal bars covered by wooden boards and rough matting. Hollowed din yung flooring dahil kung mapapansin nyo, may mga hatches kung saan nakalagay yung mga electrical cables. Yung chasis nya is made from steel frames. Electrical components are placed under passenger seats.
- 8LMB's floor was made from solid steel frame and board "ala locomotive" covered by wooden and rubber boards and floor vinyl for insulation. Electrical components are place below the car body.
* Different din ang bogie frames nilang dalawa,
- RT8D5M is using H-frame, all 4 bogies are equipped with 2 64.5 kW DC traction motors, 4 sets of mechanical disk brakes (2 per axle), 2 sets of electro-magnetic track brakes. 2 of which is jacob type.
- 8MLB is Box type.
- 2 bogies equipped with 120 kW AC traction motors, 2 sets of hydraulic mechanical disk brakes (1 per axle), 2 sets of sander, and 2 sets of electro-magnetic track brakes.
- 2 trailer bogies (jacob type) equipped with 4 sets of hydraulic mechanical disk brakes (2 per axle), and 2 sets of electro-magnetic track brakes.
Both trains are using the same wheel diameter pero magkaiba ang sukat ng axles nila. May malaki at mas mabigat at mas mahaba ang axle ng 8MLB kesa sa RT8D5M na mas payat.
in terms of axle loading computations, parehas talaga silang pasok sa axle loading limits similar sa statement nung consultant.
To make it short sa haba ng sinabi ko, DOTC drafted the contract specifications based sa specs ni RT8D5M so parang ang lumalabas, gusto nila na kopyahin lang yung lumang tren pero si CRRC is nag design ng similar dimensions but with modern designs and components.
Tinanggap ba ng DOTr ang Dalian, the answer is "NOT YET" dahil tulad ng paulit ulit kong statement, "wala pang formal acceptance and commissioning" sa Dalian trains. Nasa testing stage parin hanggang ngayon at hindi matatapos hanggat hinaharang.
Hintayin nalang natin yung results ng assessment ng TUV Rheinland.
