you could also be apprehended by the police (not just traffic officers) as they might suspect that your vehicle is stolen or that you're an accomplice to a crime (since your original plate number is not visible anymore).

try passing along a manned checkpoint (especially those that are put up by the PNP-TMG & NAKTAF).

since brand new naman ang pagkakabitan, go for special plates.., special plates can't be used in old vehilcles.

But what's buggin me the most is when i PARK.. laging hassle!! they ask what's my plate number nun nakakabit pa DOTC ko.. tapos di pa nakuntento, hinihingi pa driver's license number ko..

anywho, inilagay ko na lang sya sa sidecar na pagaari ng tito ko.. bagay nga eh

wala nang ilalabas na new commemorative plates this 2005 - nabasa ko sa isang LTO memorandum

if i'm not mistaken, the alay lakad plates are no longer legit.. but if the new one will exempt you from coding scheme that'll be greet (since it's cheaper than the PNP-MG etc.)

for the benefit of those who are interested.. can you at least post the number of alay lakad and the person that we can talk to re this matter. Thank you..

Incedentally, i also heard bout that "no more comm plates next year" thingie.. maz, can you clarify on this matter.. if there's such a memo can you least scan and post for the benefit of those who are interested (like ME?!).

straight from the LTO's website:

Authorization of commemorative plates will no longer be granted upon implementation of the vanity plates program. However, existing commemorative plates shall be allowed to mature its validity period with no further extension.

since the vanity plate program is already in place, then you can conclude that no new commemorative plates (aside from the existing ones) will be issued out. (unless a new LTO memorandum will supersede that).

kung wala jan, illegal yan. tawag kayo sa LTO to confirm. mukhang pinagloloko lang tayo ng Alay-Lakad or nung plate manufacturer.

I agree..yung iba gusto lang kumita..hehe...Wala pa naman ako kakilala sa nakalist para madaling makakuha ng comm. plates..hindi na kase bumalik yung nagalok sa amin dati ng comm. plate..Sana lang meron pa ring exempted sa coding dahil gusto ko rin magkaroon kahit this year lang..
