Yes succeeding models will still use the current 2.5li 2KD-FTV (non VNT) bec. Toyota Phils has always reasoned that the "dirty" high sulfur content fuel currently available in the Philippines impedes them (Toyota Phil) from bringing in the engine with VNT (similar to Hyundai's and Mitubishi's VGT).

But the 3.0 V model is VNT equipped right? I thought this 2013 na lalabas yung all new fort, tagal pa palang intayan ito. On hold kasi muna yung Monty dapat last year ako bumili kaya lang may nabasa ako na may new fort this 2013. 2nd hand na nga lang muna habang antay-antay sa developments ng Fort and Monty for 2013. hehehe

Yes the 3.0li 1KD-FTV has VNT w/ intercooler since its launch in our market in 2005.

You are better off getting a 2012 Montero while waiting for the new Fort to be launched here by early 2015 or late 2014.

Toyota probably had to cut cost by replacing (if I'm not mistaken) the aluminum stepboard on previous model year Fortuner to plastic moulded stepboard for the 2012 model.
