    need HELP /ADVICE: DOOR LOCK
...All my locks work recently not until my driver side does not work most of the time. when I hit
the LOCKED button on the remote, the driver side lever does not move/locked. At times it will or I have to hit it twice. Could it be getting weak or
    need adjusting? Any hints?

perhaps it is the remote's battery that is weak. or the remote's metal contacts are dirty..

    Hi Guys,

    Pa help naman please.

I have a 2010 Vios na 4 years and 6 months na but with only 11,000 mileage. Pumutok na yung isang tire ko and been told that I need to replace my tires na, all four nalang daw. My stock are Goodyear GT's and based on other people's opinions, sobrang liit pa daw ng mileage ko to have the need to change tires already, so baka panget yung naging stock ko? Anyway, if I do indeed need to change all four, these are my choices based on the calls I've made to several tire shops:

Dunlop SP Touring * 3,150 each
    Bridgestone Ecopia EP150 * 3,100 each
Goodyear Assurance Triplemax * 2,894 each

Which of the 3 is the best buy? Btw, the spec is 175/65R14.

    TIA guys!

Baka expired na rin tires mo. A common rule of thumb is that tires last 6 years whether you use them or not:

I'd get either the Assurance or the Ecopia but in wider 185/60R14 sizes.

    ^^

I replaced mine with Goodyear Duraplus, 185/70R14

Taller car (a bit), wider track (a bit din).

Way better than the skinny stock tyres.

The old GT3 Goodyears tend to "drone" when driven on the highway. All the while I though it was poor NVH for the "older" Vios.

When I replaced them, tumahimik ang kotse .... :D

    Thanks sa replies.

Sorry, pero am really clueless. Tried reading some stuff na, pero sumakit na ulo ko to absorb lahat ng info So, do I really need to change specs instead of following the stock spec? So far, I only get the part na I won't need to change rims if 14 to 14 pa rin. And that from 175 to 180 would mean wider but more stable (?), but from 65 to 60 would also mean thinner, which di ko na alam ko ano yung effect :D

Btw, I can get the Dunlop at 0% for 6 months, but yung si Bridgestone and Goodyear, cash or straight card lang. Di ba maganda si Dunlop?

This should give you an idea on how to read tire specs:

Basically, a tire that's rated 185/60R14 is wider than a tire that's rated 175/65R14. It's only slightly taller though, because 60% of 185 is 111 while 65% of 175 is only 110.5, so there's a small 0.5mm gap between the two in terms of sidewall height (how thick your tires look when viewed from the side), and a more significant 10mm difference in tire width (how wide the part of the tire in contact with the road is).

When changing tire sizes, just make sure that the overall circumference of the new size you'll be using is roughly the same as the stock one. There are lots of tire size calculators online, so you don't need to manually compute.

^^ Thanks for that, very helpfull yung diagram. So I was correct on the width and rim diameter part, but wrong on the height part

But going back to JohnM's suggestion, is there really a need for me to change specs? May significant performance difference ba from 175/65 to 185/60?

Personal preference lang. Picked it up from a guy who used to autocross a lot. IMO 175s are quieter and more comfy. The 185s will look and grip better but may make steering heavier.

for ordinary driving, stock is ok. it's probably also the cheaper and less complicated choice. all my tires are stock.

Yup, ordinary city driving lang. That's why in 4 years and 6 months, 11,000 pa rin mileage ko, house-office lang kasi byahi and the office is like 10 minutes away :D

So which among the 3 brands is best?

Btw, dinala ko kanina sa tire shop, sabi misaligned daw kaya napudpud yung sides. Makapal pa daw center. Sabi nila I can still use it for 6 months maximum, if I don't decide to change them yet. I think i'll change nalang and not wait for that 6 months. Just haven't decided on which of the 3 brands yung bibilhin, or if I should change to 185/60 as advised here.

i'm curious about the ecopia.. nakaka-save daw ng fuel because of low rolling resistance?

makapal pa ang center? sounds more like chronic under-inflation than mis-alignment..

from what i understand, thicker tires might cause you to burn more fuel...
