    Topgear article on Hilux.

    http://www.topgear.com.ph/feature/gin_is_green.html

This particular vehicle picked up over 60hp and 80lbs (108nm) of torque using the alcohol injection on the Dyno.

Good day guys! Im definitly planning to buy a 2.7 G gasoline fed this end of the month. It has been asked several times for a fuel consumption kms/li for this variant but I haven't read any reply yet. To owners pls post the actual or maybe average fuel consumption kms/li for 2.7G automatic gas fed variant. Thank you very much.

    Hello,

    I hope this helps.

The 2.7 variant of the Fortuner carries the same engine as the 2.7 variant of the Hilux. On motioncars.com, you may see that the observed fuel consumption of the 2.7G FORTUNER is around 7.2 to 7.3 km/L. Thus said, the Hilux's consumption may not be any different from that.

    Just an insight:

The curb weight of the 2.7G Fortuner is 1,735 kg.

The curb weight of the 2.7G Hilux is 1,670 kg.

The difference is 65 kg or appx. 150 pounds.

Therefore, the lighter Hilux "may" do better than the Fortuner's 7.3 km/L

For some reason, the rate from motioncars is a bit on the high side. They must have driven mostly in highways. 5.7 to 6.3 km/li is what I get with purely city driving on a Fortuner 2.7 VVT-i.

    Hello,

Just a question number001: Is that what appears on your MID?

    Regards

If it is not what appears on your MID, then it is more likely that motioncars did drive the test unit in a relatively light(er) traffic

As for the 2.7 variant of the Hilux, I expect it to be consuming appx. 6.5 km/L -- provided that the fuel consumption number001 said is based from the MID.

just a reminder to all hilux (present model/vigo) owners.

whenever you go for a wash (carwash shops), remind the attendants not to spray high pressure water directly to the wiper arm covers.

my pair popped off and got broken (wiper arm nut caps) because of its brittleness.

each cap will cost you 100 pesos.

No. I never consider the readings from the MID because of its inaccuracy (too optimistic). I compute based on total distance traveled and liters of gasoline consumed.

i consider nyo din po ang aerodynamic drag ng bed ng hilux

more drag = more resistance = increae in fc.
