no intercooler for the 4x2 turbo variant...wouldn't that pose a problem with the cooling down of the turbo?

i mean, in earlier turbo engines without intercoolers, the driver had to let the engine idle a few minutes before turning it off to allow the turbo to cool. would it be the same with the new hilux 4x2 2.5l turbo engine?

and since the 4x2 has no intercooler, would it also have no built-in hood scoop? that would add another difference between the 4x2 and 4x4 aside from the following: smaller wheel and tires, no fender flares, no step board, color-keyed grille (4x2) vs. chrome grille (4x4).

Even with an intercooler, you would still need to 'cool down' the engine before shutting off. The intercooler does not cool the turbo, it merely cools the air being forced by the turbo into the engine.

The turbo is still working as hard and getting as hot.

test drove the new hilux this afternoon.

matagtag din ang ride. also, sobrang tahimik ng engine. may free toyota hilux cap pa after the test drive ;)

pero merong variant na common-rail, at labas na ito sa thailand last quarter last year... he he he

    kiper,

kita ko yun hilux yesterday sa Toyota Alabang when I had my car for PMS..

Nice front face! Crispy-lucious engine! but its abit bulbous... like it needs to go to the gym hehehe its like the d-max is more fit and the hilux is the chubby :D rear window is tiny at dumihin yun beige interior which is weird since its a pickup. Its nice sitting inside! great dash!

saw this on the net. its a 2.5D4d turbo intercooler.

    I have a Hilux 4x4 3.0 D4D.

1.5 yrs old. 10,000kms, Petron fuel, Fortuner rims. OME rear shocks. 10.6 kms/li . So far, so good.

    Sucks to park, though.
