As far as I know, the only requirement is to have a Hilux. =) Just post on the thread, and I'm sure the guys will welcome you.

We haven't had our second EB yet. So stick around, when there's an announcement.

guys, ive been reading this forum since months ago. Today i feel like I have to consult you guys because time has come for my dad and I have to order a unit. choices started with 4x4strada,4x2navara, and 4x2hilux. now, because of some factors we had to consider like budget, looks, etc., we are 80% going for the hilux 4x2G.

But, issues i have read about the problems of D4D and the bouncy ride of the hilux (compared to the comfort of strada and nav) are not easy to go along with as we are about to order this monday. have they done changes or refinements for these issues? I really hope so.

The navara 4x2 offers some outstanding characteristics when compared to hilux 4x2G. Horsepower to start with. but the problem with the nav 4x2 is the low ground clearance and the ackward looking rims and tires. If we choose the navara, we still have to change tires from stock to 265/60 r16. So that's a risk and added work. the hilux 4x2G has no problem with its exterior. If it had 130hp or more, I would then worry less about the D4D and ride comfort issues. HP will compensate. but 102ps is an issue as well. I read that the ECU of the 4x2G is tuned for torque, i hope its true. so that at least the acceleration is present.

I hope you Hilux owners can help/convince me to purchase the hilux despite the disparities,with respect to the other pick ups, which are fairly compensated by its own the looks, madaling pormahan, great interior, etc.

we own a 4x4 navara mt. so far very happy with the truck.the rides very comy,best suspension asian pick ups for me.great cabin space and 6speed trany is great.downside is ground clearance so we had a lift about 2inches.

erpats almost picked the dmax good thing persuaded him to get the nav.now hes really enjoying his truck.

4x2 pick-up money for value,go for the trekker.we used to have one.in helping u choose the right one,always test drive(uphill,gravel,concrete or worst roads possible).then check out the specifications and compare.key factors: abs,lsd,airbags,hp torque.
