Replacing the alarm will be our last resort. We are hoping to keep the factory alarm and just buy an extra OEM remote from eBay and somehow be able to program/associate it into the existing alarm. Has anyone been successful with this method?
a couple of years ago, partstar (or was it gant?) in pasay sold OEM toyota alarm remotes for about 1k each.

dont know how to reprogram the remotes so palit na lang ng bagong alarm module

did you have to do some "carpentry" to install a filter?
or "sinalpak" nyo lang, because it was just "waiting for the filter" ?
and what filter did you use, po?

ke doc jm (surgeon jm of ACP ) ko nabili. nagpabalikbayan box kami galing Indonesia - puro avanza parts/accessories.

fixed yung slot na daanan ng filter assembly.
so hiniwa ko pa para matanggal.

ung complete assembly na binili ko filter and takip lang
    nagamit.
yung filter nakapatong lang dun sa loob.
then nilagay ko lang ung takip (me latch sya para maglock).

papalitan ko na sana nung washable filter from torque
kaso wala sila stock for avanza nung naginquiire ako.

Me nag-post ng diy filter using 3m filtrette and mesh screen dito few years back.

many fusebox covers have printed or embossed on them, the codes. DIY-er just has to look and figure it out for himself. it's not difficult.
the same codes are also printed on the owner's manual.
scary the first time, but the next time is actually fun.
    try it, sir.

warning: have some spare fuses on hand, just in case. it's also a good idea to have spares at all times.

Question po. Why is there no tempearture gauge in the avanza? Whenever i get stuck in traffic i always wonder if the engine is getting overheated. Is there low to no chance of overheating for this model that is why toyota decided not to include?

May icon na iilaw sa gauge to warn you.

Pansinin mo prior to starting the car all icons will lit up, hanapin mo dun yung icon.

Yes i see that sir. Kaya lang if that lights up during driving its too late na. Would have been better to have a gauge to warn of impending overheat.

Questions are as follow:

    1) ano ang best recommended toyota motor oil equivalent na pwedeng ganmitin? ok na po ba yung mga shell helix, petron, caltex havoline motor oil? or dapat mga castro, mobil1, royal purple? (been using toyota fully synthetic motor oil from the very start, change oil every 10,000Km, top-up every 5,000Km)
    2) other fluids like ATF, brake fluids, coolant etc., anong mga brands ang pwedeng ipalit?
    3) aside sa motor oil, ATF, brake fluids, coolant, ano pang mga fluids ang dapat palitan upon reaching 80,000Km? (kindly refrain from saying "refer to your manual", namiss placed na kasi kaya wala ng reference)

since this will be the 1st time na hindi na sa casa ipi-PMS yung avanza namin, i'm looking for these equivalent fluids that closely resemble if not are even better than the Toyota OEM fluids' in terms of performance and reliability.

    salamat sa mga magre-reply.
    regards sa lahat.

For sure design engineers know better than that.

AFAIK Pag umilaw yun it warns you pa lang.

That's true. The moment it lights up Yellow (or red), it will be just over the threshold of what the acceptable operating temperature is. No long-term damage will occur if the vehicle is immediately stopped. Real damage can occur however, if you continue driving it with the warning light on.
