Planning to buy here Avanza 1.3E but still confused if going with Manual or Automatic transmission. Need your expert advise on this one. things to consider are as follow:

1. will be using this mostly in Cavite area. sometimes city (EDSA area) driving like once or twice a week only.
2. in terms of fuel consumption, which transmission saves better?
3. when planning for a long drive (like 6-8 hours going north), which transmission is better on this one?
4. overall difference between fuel consumption between these two transmissions? just seen some articles that nowadays, there's a lot of improvements with matic transmission and there's no huge difference with a manual with regards to this one. is this true for most cars?

As you can see, my most concern here falls on the fuel consumption. but if you already tested these two types, will you recommend a manual or automatic? will be purchasing my first car so don't have any idea yet so need to gather info on this one.

2011 avanza J everyday Bacoor Cavite -> BGC. medyo matraffic sa pag uwi. consumption is around 11kms/ltr.

the best consumption i had, if i recall it correctly, is around 13-14 km/ltr. rektahan drive to.

no idea with the a/t though.

This is true for Mazda Skyactiv transmissions

Toyota 2015 Avanza is still using the 4AT from 10 plus years ago.

If FC is your priority then go for the 5MT Avanza.

Here are some info on the AT Avanza 1.3, Been monitoring my FC on a spreadsheet since I bought the car last Jan 2015.
averaging at 9.4 km / liter, on 20 full tanks so far . route is at 70/30 share for City/Highway
City Driving is just 8.1 km/Li, was able to achieve 13.3 Km/Li on a Bicol trip a couple of months ago.

Overall, I would still prefer the AT for the added convenience.
The added FC somehow makes everyday traffic driving a lot more bearable.

Hello Avanza Owners. wanted to check you have a similar experience:

1. Avanza Engine Light is turn on
2. Scanner Result is P1346 error - camshaft sensor error
3. toyota replaced the sensor but it did not fix the issue, the next day same error occurs.
4. Toyota is now recommending to change the timing chain to setup the timing that likely cause the error.

Any recommendation?
