Had the Vitara's 1K PMS during the weekend.
Paid a little over 2,000 for essentially new oil and an oil filter. Yes, Suzuki Alabang required an oil change, even though the warranty booklet says that the oil should just be inspected. I got a bit surprised, since the typical 1K PMS is just inspection. Ganun daw kasi maintenance ng previous Vitara generation.
I was fine with an oil change (no harm in change oil, keeps the engine running smoothly), though, and went ahead with it. So I guess this is just a tip to all the other owners out there in case you don't want the oil change done at the 1K PMS.
And I guess avoid PMS on a Saturday if you can. Not sure whether it was just a post-holiday thing, pero ang haba ng pila. I got in around 9:15am; got out with the car at 4:45pm dahil sa dami ng clients.
I have no issue with replacing the oil at 1K pms, basta mineral oil lang.
Hirap nila kausap.
Ibang iba sa ibang brands, basta nagpalista ka at dumating ng tama sa oras, you can expect to be next in line na.
You didn't pay for anything po?

tingin ko yung di ako nagpalista, that's my fault
yun namang nagpalista ako pero may nauna sa akin, baka malakas sa Suzuki kaya ganun. medyo nainsulto ko sa ginawa nila kaya ayun, they lost a regular customer and i gained a lot from having my pms done outside casa.
anyway, tip lang din sa mga new car owners to. sorry for the OT.
I had no issues with the change oil too (although at less than 800km on the odo, I could've avoided it). The receipt indicated mineral oil, though sabi sa akin nung service advisor synthetic na lang available nila. Kung synthetic nga nilagay nila, that means I got charged for cheaper mineral oil.
No such board there. The guard merely handed out queue numbers; first come, first serve.
I set a morning appointment, between 8:30-9:00, though I got there a bit late at 9:15. May mga walk-in na among the twelve ahead of me, and sabi sa akin nung guard yung order of arrival pa rin ang masusunod kahit may schedule ako. I guess I'll try Sta. Rosa or Sucat next PMS, to compare.
I guess my standard for service is still Makati Ford back when they were new. They had a board with the appointments and schedules were getting followed. They allowed me to watch what was being done to my Fiesta and PMS was usually done in a couple of hours.
That early-bird SA eventually advised me to just set a schedule for before lunch para wala na yung initial rush ng tao.
Just to add to my PMS experience, I guess if there's one thing to be frustrated about, it's the release part.
Good thing I had other things to do that day, so I wasn't really paying much attention to the passing time. My claim stub said 4pm, so I was there at that time. My billing notice wasn't ready yet, so they had to get that upstairs (took about 10-15 minutes). After paying the amount due, I had to wait another 10 minutes while my papers were brought back to accounting for clearance, and then another 15 minutes while they retrieved the car.
(After servicing, they park cars at Northgate due to limited space. They have a sign saying it takes 10-15 minutes to retrieve cars there.)
It's pretty inefficient and leaves a lot to be desired. Just to compare, during my last PMS at Makati Ford, the billing statement was there on the table at the time indicated on the claim stub. After paying, they had me choose a freebie and then let me and my car leave. Done in less than five minutes (choosing the freebie took the longest).
Then again, I've heard worse PMS stories from other brands. So ang mahalaga ginawa nila yung dapat nila gawin.
Thank you Sirs for sharing your 1st PMS experience. Now I have a benchmark.
In my case, I will have to bring mine to Sucat as they need to redo the tint due to wrong shade and hindi pulidong installation sa isang window. I have to pursue this kasi I paid extra to have the tint upgraded to 3M.
My GLX only ran for 30+ kms. at the moment since OR/CR is not yet available. Which brings me to my next question.. How long did it take for your SAs to secure your OR/CR? Mine said approx. 15 days from release since series number of the Vitara's engine/chassis was not yet supported in one of the systems (i.e. can't recall if it was with LTO or in their own system). Upgrading was in progress back then.
Some unrelated queries for your comments please--
1. Will replacement of tint at the rear window not affect the demister grid panel?
2. Planning to bring a TV Plus unit on my 1st PMS and have Suzuki install it for me. P1,500 service charge as per Accessories attendant. Seems like no choice since unit is still under warranty. What do you think?
Thanks.
Mine was only a Swift though, the OR/CR came out about a month. Sabi nung nag release di pwede ipatakbo hanggang wala pang docs, from casa to bahay lang daw, but sabi ni SA ok lang ipatakbo basta wag lang magka violation. Lol! and besides, 1 month or 1,000km yung unang servicing, eh kung di mo patatakbuhin, di cya aabot nun in a month's time. hehehe. So I followed SA's advice.
Finally got around to updating the maps on the navigation micro SD card provided to me. Maps are now latest available, Q4 2017. Thanking iNav Philippines as they provided a link to an update file as well as updating instructions through their Messenger account.
Map data weighs in at roughly 2GB; the navigation micro SD supplied to me is 4GB. It should be good for a few more updates given that a few hundred MB was added between the Q4 2015 (what I had) and Q4 2017 updates.
I think I have a spare micro SD card lying around at home. Next step is to try to create a backup of the iNav card to it and see if the head unit will accept the backup card.
