Even wikipedia says it too, Gen 3 Swifts are all assembled either from Japan, Hungary, India and Thailand. So if the engine is made in China but passed then assembled in Japan, that is fine with me.
Correct. And merong parang plate sa body ng car mo to identify where it's made. Lahat naman ng Swift na nakita ko nakalagay na it's made in Japan. :D

for Suzuki Swift owners or those planning to buy one, here's a nice review and a bit of history on the design.

"At the Australian launch of the new Swift, Suzuki’s chief engineer, Mr Naoyuki Takeuchi, told CarAdvice the Swift’s design philosophy is to not be affected by trends. Hence creating a timeless shape."

I was in the same boat last April 2012 looking for a sub compact car,i already have a 2007 Jazz but want another sub compact for my family as our daily ride.

My choices are the following but not in particular order :

    2012 Yaris
    2012 Jazz
    2012 Swift
    2012 Rio

The 2012 Yaris was my final choice because of :

1.Proven reliability = NZF1 engine is a proven design like Jazz.

2.Parts Availability = because the engine is the same as Vios 1.5 G ,parts are not a problem even in the province.(most but not all province )

3.Price = because of flooding in Thailand, the Jazz that they sell is made in Japan, which at that time i was looking was priced at 900 K without a discount.

4.Fuel efficiency = i get a better mileage with the Yaris compare to Jazz,i dont know why .

I really like the design of SWIFT , but Yaris in my humble opinion is the best bang for the buck if the buyer does not mind cargo space at the back.

The swift is really a nice car. Its a driver's car since the handling is really good and the engine is pretty quick too. It looks great and sporty which in my opinion is important for a small hatchback. What really impressed me with the swift is the quality feel of the interior. It feels like a more expensive car to drive than it actually is. The passenger space is also way better if compared to the fiesta. For its price range, it has a more upscale feel and appearance if you compare it to the base variant jazz or fiesta.
The downside of this car would be the transmission (if one gets the A/T) which is only a 4 A/T plus a bit of throttle lag on the A/T variant as well. The luggage space is also really small.
If I were in the market right now for a base variant hatchback, I would pick the swift. However, if budget allows for a top of the line variant, I would go with the 1.5 jazz.

Hi. I experienced that knocking sound after my 1k pms. Last Saturday I had my 5k pms done at Suzuki Caloocan. The SA said they just tightened some bolts & greased some joints. Now it's gone.

Hi Guys, I have a 2007 Swift A/T and I hear a knocking sound whenever I accelerate suddenly. The sound usually comes from the front, dunno which side if it's the left or the right side.

Meron din kalampag on both front tires. My problem is, where do you usually buy your parts and have it serviced? If I bring it sa casa, it's too expensive. I need an inexpensive alternative na okay din ang gawa.

    Please help. Thanks in advance!

Sirs! I own a swift 2006 AT. we bought it last year as 2nd hand. Last August when going home from work bigla nalang kumakadyot (yung parang sa MT pag mamamatayan ng makina), dinala na namin sa casa yung malapit sa WTC, sabi nila wala nman daw nakitang mali sa computer. Suggestion nila change the ATF and linisan yung engine. Ang advice is antayin yung PMS check-up para isahan nalang. 45K na milage this month, kaso ayaw ko muna pa PMS kasi kakapalit lang din ng engine oil, break fluid, air filter, and yung mga basic tune up last April (may voucher kasi). Ano po sa tingin niyo?

Also, magkano po kaya mag parepair/repaint ng front bumper? merong kasing mga minor scratches and meron crack between the headlights. pwede kaya ipasok sa inurance yung pag parepair? Meron ba kayong shop na recommended?

You should have changed your ATF by your 40k kms PMS. Maganda budgetan mo na yan and wag nang patagalin. That's an integral part of your car that you should take care of.
