February 27th, 2012 04:09 AM #852this is one the oldest model cars in the Phils, and yet this is also one of the rarest car we see on the road. my take on parts, expensive ito as probably other than CASA there are only a few 3rd party shops who specialize in the importation of its parts.

Stiff ang ride pero hindi makalampag. Mas makalampag pa minsan ang mga Vios na kaedad nitong unit namin.
Maintenance parts are not expensive since replacements are available. Maintenance wise, mas mura ang Jimny vs my Toyota LC80.
Replacement parts are also available for some engine and underchassis parts. A replacement Jimny shock absorber is in the vicinity of Php1000.00. Even a replacement Jazz or Vios shock absorber costs 3x that amount.
And the underchassis is tough, 2003 model pero wala pa pinalitan sa pang ilalim dahil ok pa naman. Even if Im not too kind on it. Sinasampa ko sa bangketa, walang stop sa lubak, etc. ginagamit ko kasing pang responde sa emergency with blinkers and all. Yung Jazz dati matulin pero slow down naman ako ng slow down kasi sasayad or masisira sa responde.
Its the body and trim parts like taillamps, hood, etc. that can be expensive on the Jimny as few replacements or surplus units exist.

Hi guys! New guy here. I'm seriously considering getting a bnew jimny due to my routine commute being too flood-prone. However with this regard I'm curious if there's a one stop shop (QC area) that I can have my jimny lifted and possibly have a snorkel fitted in as well? I really like what I've been reading about this tough little truck :-)
Thanks in advance!

February 27th, 2012 02:10 PM #857Say 2003 Vios vs Jimny.
Sa Jimny almost eliminate mo na ang cost sa miantenance for suspension.
Sa mga vios and the like sigurado, malaki din mauubos mo sa suspension.
Mga belt like powersteering and fan belt, dami ding replacement and orig

my 2008 model jimny matic is now running close to 50km and the only parts I have replaced so far are the wiper blades because the rubbers got stiffed!

Snorkel is 10,500.00 sa Hyperflow in Quezon City. The other snorkel brand, Airtec is $$$ and has to be imported by special order.
Lift is by Ironman or Old Man Emu. Ironman is ordered from Pablo Escobar of 4x4ph.com or via Dr. G's Car Clinic in Quezon City also.
I don't know of any one stop shop. Although 4xForce in Greenhills, and Filmar's Katipunan are both Zuk specialist shops. They'll probably order the parts from the aforementioned dealers also if you want them to work on your rig.
Personally, I'd just drop by Hyperflow and have the snorkel fitted (Php1,500 fee) and drive on over to Dr. G's (for Ironman) or RATS Katipunan (for Old Man Emu).
Max,
Nung nabutas evaporator ng Jimny, pagbukas ni Mang Mario, ang ganda daw ng evaporator ng Jimny and nakuha pa sa hinang. Iba pa din quality ng Made in Japan minsan. Imbis na palit evaporator (Php4,500++?) ay cleaning na lang ang siningil (Php700.00). Kung sa Vios ito (for comparison lang) tatanggalin pa ang buong dashboard to get to the a/c. Ubos ang araw ko. Sa Jimny, glove box lang aalisin.
