I replaced my front speakers and had rear speakers installed. Pareho silang 4" front and rear. Pwede pagpilitin 5" sa rear pero magbubutas ng new screw hole.

Pangit pa rin tunog. At bumabasag and umuugong if you turn up volume. Dapat talaga bigger speakers and better HU.

Doc Otep had installed a sub woofer under the driver's seat. Ewan ko if that will suffice without changing to speakers bigger than 4" for front and rear.

How does one adjust the belt tensioner? was able to change my alternator belt but can't seem to fit the aircon belt. cut the old aircon/power steering belt and now ready to install a new one but with the limited space can hardly even see how to adjust the tensioner... i guess i have to remove the radiator to fit in the new belt.. my 2005 model is the old one with the manual 4wd shifter.... thanks in advance for any help....

Got my Jimny 3 months ago. Nagyon lang ako nakapag post. I'm very thankful sa thread na ito. Lahat halos ng itatanong ko about the car, dito ko lang nalaman. Mine is a 2013 A/T, I'm a bit surprised that my fuel consumption is not that bad, it somehow suits to my kind of driving habit or style. I get 12 to 13 Km/L, mixed driving (80% highway + 20% city), with stock tires. As suggested from this forum, I changed first and foremost the horn (bosch - they called it pit-pit sa banawe) kc an hina nga talaga, then the front speakers with a sony explode 3 way speakers (gt1038) (4 inches), yung rear speakers (later na lang). I bought YATOUR (Ipod Car Adapter) to connect to Ce-NET Clarion plug (eBay), however I haven't installed it yet kc wala pa ako time. Hehehe. Changed the wiper blades with NWB, for summertime ko na lang yung stock the wiper blades. The best thing about this car is that madali isingit, ipark, isampa sa center island, na di ko magawa sa iba kong sasakyan. Hehehe. Kahit na matagtag ito compared sa KIA Sportage ko but with JImny's advantages, kaya ko magcompromise. I'm not really into a 4x4 adventure. I simply wanted to use it to commute with ease na makauwi sa bahay kahit na may konting baha na di kaya ng ibang sasakyan daanan. Six months ago, when I was planning to buy another car, I was hesitant to buy this thing because of its fuel consumption which ranges from 5 to 13 km/L according to other owners I read on this thread. But when I compared the pros and cons with my needs, I decided to go for this. Fortunately, I got the consumption I set for this vehicle. So far I'm very very happy with this SUV. Hahaha. I have one question, How do I secure my spare tire COVER at the back? Its has no lock, nor cable lock, Its simply a cover with a zipper that you can easily take off. Baka nakawin kc, ngeek!! Buti sa Japan hindi ninanakaw mga ganito, sa pinas, alam mo na. TIA.

Congrats sir! The spare tire cover is really difficult to secure. My 2008 model is covered by a plate and locked by an ordinary nut that can be removed easily using an ordinary wrench. Avoid parking in an unlit or unsafe area.

The ordinary nut can be replaced by a special lug nut that requires a special wrench to open. Only downside is, you have to buy a set of four nuts and the key. You can always put the excess nuts on your road tires. This is what I did.

Or you can put a Solex lug lock. Only problem was I could not find the right size during the time I was shopping for one. This is what I actually wanted initially.

Sir CB, here is the OEM shock vs the Monroe. Looks like it will fit. \

If it's a set of 5, reasonable na. But I kinda like the current wheels. Looks very Nissan Safari during its heyday.

Wow nabuhayan ako ng loob dito sa post mo sir, type ko talaga to as a 3rd car..I wanted sana a small, versatile and fuel efficient car but read that di pala matipid so medyo na turn off ako, pero dahil sa post mo, matic na pero nag 12-13 ka pa. So what's the real deal dito, I envision this car sana to be my city driving little toy that can traverse floods just in case maabutan ng ulan. Ok kaya ito sa ganung role. Ano kaya ang projected consumption nito compared to a fieldmaster which is currently my daily driver. Medyo magastos na rin kasi for me kahit diesel, ang P500 pesos ko daily na hatid sundo ng mga bata, tapos anlaki na maasyado para isingit singit sa parking ng miriam. btw katipunan is hell during hatid at sundo kaya tlagang ubos krudo...mas makakatipid kaya ako kung Jimny ang ipalit ko sa role ni FM?

real score on the jimny AT.... i have a 2005 AT with 36000 on the odometer, and a 2010 AT with 12000..... both have identical consumption.... i'm a bit heavy on the gas pedal because i normally drive more aggresively in either the city or on the hightway......city driving gives 150 km per 19 liters and where i live 19 liters is currently 1000 bucks or P52.45 per liter of unleaded gasoline...ejpane does 80% highway and 20% city, and gets 12 to 13..... i've driven both over long distances and I get a steady 10+ km per liter... and being a bit more on the aggresive side, I hit 3000 or more rpm while on the open highway..... it is hard to say if a jimny AT is fuel efficient, everybody seems to claim that all AT's can't give you a consumption of 10km/liter in the city, but a friend with the new Subaru all time 4 wheel drive claims he goes over 10km/liter.... sometimes i get a little bothered about the low city driving consumption but in the end i still love the tiny suv and know that whatever happens it can take me home.......here's something you might want to read before you make a decision to get one ....greenlimabeans.com: Jimny, a little love affair

doc otep, for the Solex lug lock, what is the thread size needed? or is it universal?

i drive a pre-vvt manual tranny jimny. i usually get minimum 7.5km/l fuel consumption for city driving. same as the auto tranny of the vvt model. my usual route is manila-makati, which traffic gets really bad most of the time.

below is my recorded fuel usage since July of this year when i first got the Jimny. dont mind the 6.++ km/l consumption since that was the time my a/c broke down several times and was being repaired. so daming idling during that time + the "medical mission" of INC where i got caught in traffic for 3 hours.

May size yun solex. The only ones they had at the time were sized for fortuners and monteros. Just bring the lug as a sample. .

Sir, before I stopped driving, I averaged between 9-10 km/liter for 95% city driving with my Jimny MT. Yung 9 sa asawa kong mabigat ang paa. Yung 10 sa akin, mas magaang paa ko sa gas pedal. Less than 9km/l pag bumper to bumper all the way EDSA from East Ave. to Ortigas. Bihira ako mag out-of-town noon, but got 13km/l to Batangas and back. this included running at 120-130kph on a portion of the Star expressway (or is it highway?)... Would have probably gotten better mileage if I just ran at 80-90 and rpm at 3000+ all the way...
