July 31st, 2011 11:17 PM #701BITTERSWEET JIMNY DEALER experience...
hello jimny fans, I finally decided which my 1st bnew car would be after a rather stressful but very enjoyable "choosing" between the APV, alto and celerio.
I went to 2 dealers: shaw and pasig(c5). Pasig had more cars and looked more impressive but shaw had better, friendlier agents. but since my priority was the cars, I ended up dealing in pasig because of the really cool looking jimny in their showroom.
It was a base model jimny jx in super cool 2tone grey/silver that really caught my aye, they also had one equally cool in white. It took me a week to decide which color I wanted (hours of google searches and comparisons and personal photo-taking in the dealer.) Para akong manganganak at pumipili ng pangalan ng magiging anak ko- haha.
Anyway, after processing of my papers and stuff for the payment (I must admit my agent was efficient in this field. Not so much hassle or problems in that area), my agent told me I could pickup my unit on sat(yesterday). Since I didn't want the tint freebie I opted for the alarm/central locking freebie. Pumayag naman yung agent.
When I went there to get my jimny, I was excited and all. I waited in the showroom which was about to close coz it was around 4pm. The agent told me to wait until matapos yung alarm installation then car wash. At aroung 5pm, everything was finished and ready. Except THE ALARM ON THE DRIVER'S DOOR DIDN'T WORK. The drivers door when opened didn't trigger the alarm. kung ano-ano excuse ang binigay ng technician, kesyo may delay daw yung door and may it wasn't compatible witht the car-SO WHY DID YOU INSTALL IT!?! (syempre sa utak ko lang sinabi) My agent wasn't to helpful at this point, all she could do was suggest me to come back on monday. major hassle and disappointment.
All in all, a simple alarm installation hindi nagawa ng technician sa SUZUKI PASIG. Either he was in a hurry or he was just plain inexperienced.
This is a small hassle but ruined my experience of bringing home a bnew jimny home. Its one of those things where you wished everything would be perfect, kind of like when you 'unbox' a new gadget you just bought and somthing ruins that moment. In fairness, I am going to delay my grudge with the service in SUZUKI PASIG until tomorrow and see if they can fix this simple thing. If not, you can expect the names of both the agent and technician posted here tomorrow.

August 2nd, 2011 08:14 AM #703well you're right. They installed a new alarm but with the silent function not working! Is the an excuse for that? The technician sure didn't give one, and I was just in hurry to leave to ask for one. Sheesh why did they hire this guy??? HIS NAME IS JOAN by the way (so any of you prospective suzuki pasig customers should be warned). I'll get his reason from my dealer and just have another alarm installed outside.

August 2nd, 2011 11:35 AM #704I just got the reason for the 3rd button not functioning. The technician said it is a TRUNK RELEASE button. I like to believe him but the symbol in the button looks very much like a speaker with a slash so...

August 8th, 2011 05:20 PM #707My bnew urban commuter. When I first saw the new gen Jimny on the streets of Manila back in 06 or something, my thought bubble was "DREAM CAR", yes not a porche or lambo or a BM, but a suzuki Jimny. I love small cars and how they look and handle. My first car was a Suzuki Fronte and I loved it until it died of natural causes. Ever since then I've been commuting but now after a few years of saving and having depressing thoughts of dying without enjoying life(probably midlife crisis), I decided to get my dream car.
Since I'm not that rich, I just got the base model. At first it was a tough decision between 2 colors: white and silver grey. Both had merits. White was more unique, I never saw a white new model Jimny before. But then again the white kind of made it look bigger.
The grey on the other hand was nothing new but this is the color I fell in love when I first saw the Jimny and besides, the 2 tone color(dark grey bottom half) made it look unique.
The minute I drove the jimny out of the casa, my heart and whole body vibrated with excitement and opened up a whole new O.C.-ness in me. I wash my Jimny every single day (just water of course, mainly just to wash of the dirty rain water), I have 4 sponges for diff parts of the car, I bought a vacume cleaner, a car cover and steering wheel lock. I know it defeats the character of the car, but I just want to enjoy the newness of it. After 2 & a half weeks, it still has the new car smell!maybe after a few months magsasawa na rin ako sa pag-alaga and stuff start to creep in like scratches, dents and mechanical problems or worse, break-in attempts!
but until that time...aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh!....who says money can't but happiness!
