November 8th, 2011 02:29 AM #732Hi Guys, I'm a new member. My Dad is thinking of buying me a second hand car first because I'm a new driver. Coincidentally, my uncle is selling his 2003 A/T Jimny. He's selling it for 385k? What's the ongoing market price now? Also, how much do you think would it cost daily in gas if for example you'll just be shuttling in between Katipunan and North Ave. Triangle Area? Or how much your gas consumption would be? Thank you for those who can answer my questions.
I'm a girl and the jimny is not a typical car for girls here in our country but I'm not one for conventional cars. I like the functionality of it when there's floods and for rough roads in the province.

a A/T Jimny drinks around 7 to 10 kilometers/liter afaik
Im assuming that the Jimny 2003 is and currently in good working condition.. (no damage-nothing to fix) then the price i believe is quite fair enough.

My current girlfriend and the one before her both drove 2003 Jimnys. Other female doctors here also drive Jimnys.
A 2003 Jimny with 60-70 thousand kms sells for Php350k for an automatic variant in good condition.
2005 models started using the gated shifter and went to a push button 4wd system as well (older Jimnys had two shifters sticking out of the floor). Though a bit debatable, us old school guys still prefer a shift it yourself 4wd system instead of that pushbutton affair. But both of them work well enough for most terrain you will subject the Jimny to.

In addition to Dok Otep's comments, Push button shifter for 4wd is a lot more convenient than the stick type and it will give you extra cup holder. BTW both are electronic driven. Meaning stick shifter is not directly connected to Tcase same with the push button. Good luck.

November 11th, 2011 06:38 PM #738To add also, the 2005 models have different interiors. namely the dashboard, seat fabrics, side panels too. mags for the 2005 is the 5spoke design. earlier models have the triangular design wheels.
good luck!

ako ang car ko bago ako bumili ng Jimny 2 months ago, is a 1 year old Ford Fiesta with only 12000 km on the odometer. my main reason for swapping... baha at road conditions dito sa CDO, Bukidnon, Iligan, etc...
