just came back from Laiya, Batangas.... was only able to get up to 130kph momentarily on the Star Tollway, before I ran out of road... pangit din kasi sa cemented portions; sa asphalt lang nakakatakbo ng mabilis... I wish I could install a vacuum gauge na on the car. Would really like to see what is the most economical speed for the Jimny. Running at 120-130ph at over 4000rpm is certainly not economical.

dunno why I can't update my previous post... anyway, I got gas this morning, and was pleased to see I got 13km/liter on the Batangas trip (280km from SLEX to Laiya and back + 80km city driving).

Btw, currently the cheapest gas I've seen is at Total on EDSA near Boni: unleaded P47.60 per liter, including a P1.00/liter discount. That's P0.50 lower than the gas I get from the office with P1.50 discount.

Hi fellow Jimny-atics! (hope you like the term).
I have spent a lot of time viewing reviews, blogs, threads for Suzuki Jimny and i cant help falling in love with this Lil' Mighty SUV.
problem is that i am still saving money to buy it!, Yes! i already know some of the pros and cons of this car, and i am thinking twice whether should i buy a 2nd hand (2003 to 2005) or brand new 2010 (for my first car).
Can you please please give me comparisons of Jimny 2nd hand and Brandnew?
which is way better in terms of;
1.Fuel Consumption
2.Design (although nothing much changed)
3.Performance
4.Reliability
5.(please add up other factors) ^_^


also, just to add up, is Shaider's SUV a jimny? hehe

Yep. Shaider drove a Jimny. The older one. Sort of a shortened Zuk Samurai.

Performance is slow. Reliability is next to bulletproof (nothing seems to break).

May nag customize na ba ng jimny to look like Alexis' SUV in Shaider dito sa pinas?

wala akong makitang photo ng buong suv ni alexis but as i remember color blue yun awesome talaga, if i would get a jimny i will definitely customize it to look like alexis' suv. tapos naka blue jacket ako and white pants at leather shoes hahaha.

Put that elastic cloth thing that girls use to make pony tails on the two knobs that allow the seat to fall forward, this will hold the two together and prevent them from rattling as you drive.

since dumating na yun resibo sa topload rack permit pati or/cr kinabit ko ulit yun rack. tapos nawala yun rattle sa may banda driver side na seatbelt pillar. so yun rattle baka sa roofrails galing? hehe. mahirap nga pala maghanap ng car mats para sa jimny. bumili ako sa concorde nun palanggana type na pvc mats di kasya ang ganda pa naman sana. pinapalitan ko ng mas maliit na set di pa din kasya. ginamit ko na lang yun luma momo mats kaso baligtad. yun front passenger mat nasa divers side and vice versa. kaya yun heel pad sa driver's mat nasa passenger side. hehe.

our parish priest drives a very similar suzuki samurai... same color... but with that hard top lang.. i think they can remove it easy as removing locks. ill take a picture sometime.. naka parada lang palagi sa tabi ng simbahan :D

mga sir, inquire lang ako, may nag-sound set-up na ba sa inyo ng jimny? palit HU and speakers? mahirap ba gawin kung sariling sikap? hehe i heard di daw talaga maganda ang tunog nung stock sanyo speakers. another thing, ano brand speakers and HU ok na nailagay ninyo? TIA brothers!
