April 21st, 2013 10:29 PM #1582I just want to share my FC experience with my unit (APV SGX 1.6 M/T got it last year - April 17, 2012).
A week before my unit's anniversary date I hit the 10,000km mileage. Had it PM at casa for the usual 10km mileage.
Indeed, malakas kumain ng fuel si APV lalo na kapag traffic... I suspect nasa 4km per liter lang lalo na kapag naka bukas ang rear aircon. Kapag nakasarado siguro around 6-7 km per liter.
I was surprised when I drove two weeks ago from Quezon City Memorial Circle all the way to Burnham Park Baguio City. I got 12-14KM per liter mileage. Had a full tank when left Q.C a little over half tank when I reached Baguio City. Note that I used Kennon Road to Baguio with 6 Adult Passengers and 6 large Backpacks. I think kaya 1 Full Tank balikan wag lang ma tratraffic sa Tarlac at Pangasinana Area.
After my 10KM PM, I noticed that I had better mileage. As compare when it was just between 1K TO 5K.
Overall, I am very satisfied sa performance on my road trip to Baguio City... LAKAS LAKAS HUMATAK sa KENNON ROAD... Walang ka hirap hirap umakyat sa steep slopes. Kayang kaya kahit 2nd to 3rd Gear at nakabukas both front and rear aircon at max settings. ASTIG talga si APV...
Had another road trip last week to Subic Bay... Sarap ihataw sa SCTEX... I was able to reach 150 Kph. SUPER TINING HUMATAW AT TUMAKBO... Habang bumibilis.. tumitining at pumipino ang tunog ng makina... sa 150 Kph meron pa ihahatak.. hindi ko lang hinataw kasi na over over speeding na ako masyado sa 150KPH.... Dapat nga 100KPH lang.
Again, had a very good mileage this time via SCTEX I think i got 14-16 km per liter. At full tank from Q.C. ... i used only about 1/4 tank all the way to Subic Bay. I think kaya 1/2 tank balikan Q.C. - Subic - Q.C.
I am planning to take a road trip anytime next month from Q.C. to Pagudpod... Sarap pang long distance driving si APV... kaka addict mag road trip.
Hope this helps!!

April 21st, 2013 10:44 PM #1583After my 10,000KM I think may improvement sa mileage sa city driving ko. However, I did not scientifically measured it pero parang pansin ko lang na medyo nag improve ang mileage. I think yung long distance driving that I had over the weeks plus napatakbo ko sa 150kph sa SCTEX might have something to do to make the engine more fuel efficient. After I came back from those long distance trips dun ko napansin na parang may improvement sa FC... In addition parang mas gumaan ang takbo ng makina.
Just sharing.

hi sir.. its expected.. you will still experience bad FC until your 2nd change oil... you're still in your break-in period.
to calculate FC - have you tank filled (automatic), then set your ODO A or ODO B to zero. travel then your next gas up.. fill it up as automatic shut off again. your total number of liters divide with traveled kilometers..

April 26th, 2013 01:07 AM #1589Or you can use fuelly.com and just enter in the info such as odometer reading, liters filled and price per liter to calculate the FC. All you need is the odo reading and the receipt from the gas station since most of the info aside from the odo reading can be found there.
Another option is to use an android app like "aCar" ot "FuelLog" to track the FC offline. Both have free versions with unlimited FC tracking. Personally, I'm using the paid version of aCar since I like to get the maintenance reminders and service cost tracker as well.
I find that using apps or fuelly.com is way more accurate and easier than having to manually calculate the FC of my cars/bikes. All you need is to fill up to full tank, enter the data and you're set.
