April 6th, 2013 12:00 AM #1551Sir Oli,
Does it specifically says for axle, differential, final drive, hypoid gear?
Its confusing sometimes they use the term gear when it could mean the Gearbox of MT of Transfer case for 4x4.
From what i understand:
Axle = final drive, differential, hypoid gear
Gearbox applicable for MT only
Transfer case is for 4x4
AT specifically says ATF
BTW i crossed some fluid specs from this site Suzuki Malaysia Automobile Sdn. Bhd.Last edited by 12vdc; April 6th, 2013 at 12:23 AM.

- Replaced cracked fan belt
- Replaced and bleed Brake fluid, cleaned reservoir
- Flush and replace coolant, cleaned reservoir
- replaced busted AC WP tensioneer bearing
- Replaced PS fluid
- Drain/ Refill ATF. (3weeks from now willbe replacing strainer and use dialysis for draining)
Next will be replacing
- Timing belt
- Timing belt tensioneer pulley

- camshaft gasket

I guess this is the tradeoff from maintaining an old car., maintenance keeps on going.

Thanks for the info bro. I was trying to load something larger than what the rear cargo area could hold. I tried folding the seats but as you've confirmed, it really doesn't fold the floor. Ended up just tying the item and leaving the rear door open.
Considering this is a fleet variant, it'd be nice for Suzuki to revise the seats and make them more versatile.

April 8th, 2013 10:29 AM #1554Hello po ulet. I just have a few questions about our APV's PMS. I don't have the manual with me kaya po I would like to ask if the link from Suzuki Malaysia's recommended PMS is accurate or do we need to change / update things earlier. My Apv po is clocking at 65K na sa ODO. Next major PMS after this based on the site would be at 90K.
**Timing Belt
**Oil Seal Camshaft
**Oil Seal Crankshaft
**Belt Tensioner
or would it be better kung hindi na paabutin pa ng 90k?
Suzuki Malaysia Automobile Sdn. Bhd.
BTW, do you guys know where I can download a manual for the suzuki GA on the internet. I googled it na kaso i can't find any.
Thanks po !

hi xtianx -- im not sure regarding the PMS that you are following. but as standard if you are using mineral oil you should change oil every 5 thousand kilometers or 3 months which includes your oil filter and spark plugs.
if you are using fully synthetic oils, then you should change oil every 10 thousand kilometers including oil filter and spark plugs.
OEM spark plugs can run between 5 thousand to 10 thousand kilometers or longer.. but it may effect on fuel consumption.
regarding your upcoming PMS. from our Suzuki Manuals.
anything after 60 to 70 thousand kilometers.. these are the following preventive maintenance that you should check.
1. Change Oil
2. Change Oil Filter
3. Change Spark Plugs
4. Change Air Filter
5. 2 pcs - Drive Belts
6. Timing Belt
7. Idler Bearing or also called as Tensioner Bearing
8. Tappet Spacings
9. Front and Rear Break Cleaning (front break pushbar lubricate / rear break / hand break adjustment)
10. Differential Oil (check if dark, then change gear oil ; else top off)
11. Transmission Oil (check if dark, then change gear oil ; else top off)
12. Check Break Fluid consistency (must be clean no rust/dark colored fluid ; else flush and replace)
13. Check Radiator Water/Coolant (must be clean no rust ; else flush and replace)
please take note when replacing timing belts -- the camshaft and crankshaft spacers must be not dropped ; else it may cause your drive belts and timing belts to turn out of line. (medjo sensitive yung parts na yun -- it costs around 300php each)
if you will be having your next casa maintenance the parts will cost you around 6000php not including labor and change oils.. only the belts, camshaft spacer, crankshaft spacer, 2 oil seals, bearing.
hope i answered most of your questions.
feel free to ask anything if there are specifics that you need.

just to share -- this what a 10thousand kilometer spark plug looks like
my FC is still within my expectations - 9 to 10kms/liter on city/highway mixed driving ; 10 to 12 kms/li on highway driving

old timing belt - 60 thousand kilometers traveled - still looking good. but I just wanted to make sure na din.
new timing belt
tappet spacing check.. I already had my tune-up around a year ago.. I just wanted to make sure my tappets ; camshaft and internals is still healthy and tight so my mechanic checked it for me.. just to make sure -- cam bolts and screws re-tightened.

April 9th, 2013 04:18 PM #1558Very informative Sir Oli! ^_^ I know now na between 60k-70k pala na we have to change the timing belt na din. I though nasa 80k pa. I change oil and spark plugs usually every 5-8k usage since it's semi-synthetic naman that I'm using. (Castrol Magnatec 5w-40).
Question about your timing belt change, Usually how much would it cost us to buy this belt? I heard na eto ang mahal satin.
Thanks po ulet !

timing belt costs around 1800php at suzuki casa with 15% discount.. pag wala.. around 2000php (just for the timing belt alone)
labor ang medjo pricy sa CASA.. they quoted me around 2500php for changing the timing belt.. includes the tensioner bearing, drive belts.
