Well that was last year at Sta Cruz, also had my camber checked (a necessity for every tyre change)-corrected negative camber for P1800.
In 4-5 years time, I'll study and decide between Dunlop, Toyo, Bridgestone & Goodyear.

i think this can be done since the type II has a remote lid opener. just need the right parts. the most difficult i think is the routing of the cable and drilling into the body.

does anyone have pics of their lid opener lever, location of the lever, gas lid latch? might do this once i get parts.

reason being is because of low sales and the fact that the price is high doesn't help. the apv wasn't as popular then as it is today.

Are the fuel hatches electrically driven? If so, then retrofitting is possible.

based on the pics shared to me by a type II owner, it seems the lid is released via cable.

i've seen two DIYs online for vehicles that doesn't come with the release lever as standard. one is via cable and another one via actuator. so fitting the type I with a release lever is feasible.

If TypeII has that remote lid opener, try asking casa for PN#. I bet they are cable type same with the Jimny.

Or be imaginative, try retrofitting from what's availalble.

From this Type I image, door panel doesnt even have PN# IDK how is that different from TypeII.

    Good luck.

i'm planning to source parts from indonesia when i return there this november. the part numbers are a big help. thanks! i think one of the issues i will encounter if i use the cable in indonesia is that it might be shorter since the driver side is on the right.

12vdc, are you the one with the OBD II reader? were you able to make it work on the APV? the only data my OBD II reader can check is the voltage. nothing else.

Mga sir, nag iinquire kase online sa mga seller regarding roof rack and roof rail. Yung napagtanungan ko yung roof rail niya ay no drill daw, safe ba yun? I mean matibay ba? Wheel chair kase madalas ko ikakarga sa rack. So medyo heavy siya.

    JonJonV,

The racks that Shark sells clamps to the sides of the doors, which would give you all the strength you need to put any stuff there.

I'd like to have a rack, I just lost interest. The idea of clamping that accessory to the door lost my appeal over time. I'd favor welding some fixtures on the roof where the racks can be screwed instead. But that means a major body job, which needs a lot of studying and talking to car shops.

    Janus,
As for the fuel lid opener, I'd like to see an actuator/solenoid built into the keyswitch, electrically wired to the dashboard. If the gizmo fails, I can still use the key. I wonder if there's such a part out there.

^ Those actuators are huge & noisy as the one used in the door locks. Problem with that is the size, how u would retrofit that, plus electromagnet that big draws toomuch current it could start fire w/c you dont wanna like to happen since its just besides gas filler neck and near evaporative canister.

If one is really serious, i'd suggest just buy the PN# same of that APV2(couldn't find one on catalog), or get similar with smaller footprint maybe you could source parts from the wreckers.

To give you an idea how small it should be..

This is for the GV (cable operated)

    Jimney

In my pickup its an electric solenoid-actuated release latch PN# 78850-JR00A. Latch is beveled catch, lid held by metal strip acting as spring. You may need to retrofit that spring and latch for both cable-type or electromagnetic.

    No.

Scanguage didnt work, same with two other el cheapo reader, failed to handshake communications. Got tired and lazy tinkering ditched the plan anyway i dont need to monitor, engine has handful of sensors not as complicated as the diesel.

Basta when that CEL lights up again, i know what to check its the emmission control as stated in the manual - either Oxy or air temp senser.

AFAIK Zuk uses some proprietary OBD2 signaling on the older models. Dunno maybe other members could share if they made it work using other OBD reader.

DIY - Remote Trunk And Fuel Tank Opener

not a thorough DIY but you will get an idea of how to do it. the mechanism of the lid opener is not that complicated so im thinking it's an easy installation. the hardest part i guess is sourcing out parts. specially the cable since the cable you will need is long.

straker, i think this is best done with the manual cable instead. i have an idea how to do it. once i source out the parts i will share the how to here.

recently i've been reading on hypermiling and one thing that is recommended is to install a scanguage or anything that can measure fuel consumption real time. i have one of those wifi obd ii readers where i can connect my phone to.

sad to know that suzuki doesn't use a standard obd ii port.

They still use standard SAE J1952 OBD2 16-pin connector. They only differ with the 24-volt cars which has one-way slab in between the pins.

They are still serial communications and vary with protocol used (baud rate, modulation, etc) some of which:
    J1850 VPW/PWM
    J-2284
    ISO9141-2
    ISO14230-4(KWP2000)
    ISO15765

For Suzuki, global models have standard modulation protocol. Most non-global doesn't support(some toyotas are also like that).

Had mine at Banawe, forgot if Goldrich nga ba or some shops along that side of the road basta hindi ka na aabot sa Orthopedic side.

Butas roof with sealant pero OK lang since covered parking, i recommend the clamp type pa rin.

Demand an OR since you will need it on your next vehicle registration for topload/cargo net, addtn'l P100 for that.
