Anyway, going back...that short wheelbase Beaver needed a lot done to be bearable. Having driven those & the JB43 Jimny('98-'18), the latter has evolved to be way milder than those dinosaur sams & rodents. The new 1 can't be any worse. They'll never be CUV or sedan comfy, but they are ok tolerable. They're practical for singles, young & old. There's way more to the Jimny than just cool, OB sir. Wish they were just priced much lower.[emoji4]

Late last year and just 2 weeks ago, I disposed 2 of my 4x4 gasoline cars: a Gen 1 CRV and a Ford Explorer Eddie bauer. ewan ko parang ang sarap ng feeling na wala na ako gasoline car na bine-baby. It had sentimental value to me, those 2 cars, kaya urong sulong ako sa pagbenta. There are times I justified to myself, eh mahal na ang mga 4x4 ngaun, baket ko ibebenta?

so with this Jimny, what's really so special about this Jimny when I first saw it? the 4x4? the sleek boxy look? pero habang naalis ko na ang impulsive emotions ko, I realized this Jimny is just 1.5 liter gasoline with an aircon the size of the fist. talo pa ng mga cars na dinispose ko recently. I mean I could keep them for life coz I restored them na naman. kontrolado ko na cost of ownership ko.

so buti na lang, naglabas ang Hyundai ng Hyundai Venue. with the Palisade, the Telluride, and now the Venue. and the rumors of the Ford Bronco, I think mag-shift na naman ang car designs sa boxy look instead of aerodynamic look like the Mazdas, and the Santa Fes.

that will be the trend of the future. so baket ba ako ma-eexcite sa Jimny, eh 2 years from now, boxy cars will be a common sight on our roads.

Ummm, coz nobody offers the humble ladder, rear drive & those axles in the small 4x4 segment anymore? I know I'm kinda stuck in the past, OB sir.[emoji4]..I miss the simple, the rugged, the robust, & the reliable....them cars made w/o obsolescence engineered into their DNA. Good luck w/ the current crop, sir.[emoji4][emoji120]

Huwag kayong maniwala kay OB. Pag nandyan na yang Jimny pipila yan. Ganyan din sinabi sa Montero Sports napaka pangit yung likod at di siya bibili, tanong mo ngayon kung ano say niya sa Montero Sports

I reserved early this month, I hope I can get one this June when stocks arrive. Ang sabi ko na lang basta glx model kahit ano kulay pa yan Bummed out lang since glx variants only carry AT no MT. I like the MT version better like the ones you see on youtube reviews glx MT. I'm glad I held out on buying the CRV dsl, I didn't get the feeling of really wanting it unlike this Jimny will save me a lot of money too. [cross my fingers!]

Yes, I'm one of the people who is not into off-roading but the height and size of the Jimny are what attracted me to it plus the price compared to other SUVs. My main purpose is for my daily drive which is mostly city-driving. My route is just house to office and meetings in between, mon to sat, then Sundays church or mall, and dinner with family. So I was thinking that for the 6 days a week the Jimny would be truly functional for me. Even on Sunday drives, we have 2 kids that would fit nicely at the back seats and we seldom have cargo to load anyway it's just us doing our Sunday rounds. If we plan to go on trips with cargo space needed, then of course Jimny is out, we'll just use our old 2nd gen CRV 7 seater or Urvan Estate.

Before I decided to get the Jimny, my considerations were the CRV and Rav4. I went to see the new Rav4 but it was already big and not a compact SUV anymore. It has a wider and longer body which turned me off. As for the CRV, my sister who I work with got hers early and beat me to it so that kinda kills it for me not being the one to own one first in the family While the other pickup based SUVs are too impractical for me, big and bulky. My current daily driver is the 1st gen Xtrail 2.5L AWD, great suv but not very efficient FC at 5.7kpl at city driving. I'm somewhat tired of it just want brand new car for myself.

Clarkson: The new Suzuki Jimny is perfect for life under Jeremy Corbyn | The Sunday Times

“I put it in rear-wheel drive at one point and turned off the traction control, and in one of my fields I was reminded what it was like to be five. I’d like to thank it for that.”

Engage four-wheel drive and the Suzuki gets close to being unstoppable off-road, he adds. It proved particularly adept over slippery damp grass (or “green ice”, as it’s known in Clarkson’s neck of the woods). “If you fitted it with off-road tyres, it would get to places that would defeat a Land Rover,” he writes.
while you may want a Range Rover or Lamborghini Urus, all you need is this.

Driven the jimny yesterday sa autofocus. Grabe ang bigat ng feeling. Di makahataw. Pag inapakan mo ang gas ang ingay ng tunog. Hirap na hirap. Whereas ertiga ang gaan ng pakiramdam. Sumisibat. Layo sa lumang ertiga. Lambot ng steering. Di talaga sulit to. Pang porma porma lang
