Haven't used it yet. Have similar concerns kasi, and I like the seats as is

hi sa mga naka WHITE and GRAY colors, ask ko lang po how easy or hard experience nyo sa maintenance ng kulay ng foresters nyo? colors we owned are toyotas na bronze, isuzus na whites (malayo sa white pearl ng forester), at mitsu na red na dumihin at mahirap i maintain kaya gusto sana namin ma sure na di na ganito kahirap maintenance ng kulay na mapili namin. TIA!

I have an Ice Silver Metallic Forester. Much much easier to maintain in comparison with my black car. Kahit maalikabok at maputik, hindi halata.

Agree here, silver is safe color to maintain

Ako, pearl white. I used to own a black SUV and white is better in that dirt or dust is not as easily apparent.

Long term, I'm not sure how well it holds up when I had it waxed at hillsborough, the staff cautioned me about car wash using fake or poor quality tire black which stains. They said they had a client with white FXS who asked them to remove black streaks from tire black. So I usually go to car wash na sulk ko na.

I read the manual and you're right. It seems even Motor Image forgot about leaving the backrest part open. Am gonna have mine fixed at an upholstery shop. Thanks for sharing.

thanks sa replies. gusto ko talaga black kasi nakaka dagdag sa ***y at minsan sindak factor, kaso nga super hard to maintain. closest color is yung gray na madami bumili (2nd or 3rd in demand daw) so im hoping na good experience ng owners sa maintenance. elegance naman ng pearl white made it my alternative choice though wala din kami experience sa color na to. did not consider silver pa which is indeed easiest to maintain pero di masyado ma appeal for me. but ill look again and think through kung looks or convenience priority. still hoping to have both though.hehe

Ako nga my first choice was marine blue because it's unique, it's great to look at and I like blue Kaso mahirap daw habulin ung color if ever mabangga or magasgas (according to the SA, dunno if he's bullshitting me), and the dark gray hides dust and easier to maintain (so I heard). So I have a gray on reserve. But I may switch back to blue once I get to see one again...

Go with the blue! (or whatever color you want)

My old car was black because I always wanted a black car. And even if it had all those visible scratches, and anonymous folks regularly wrote "clean me" or "linisan mo ako" on the car whenever I didn't , I always took pleasure in the fact that when I did have the car washed and/or waxed, it looked the best!! After that, when I was deciding on the Forester, I decided to go with white, for a change, even if there are a lot of challenges din in maintaining a white car. Follow your heart!

Dark gray! I was tailing one earlier in EDSA (also had no plates yet) and really looked good. heheh

I've been driving around more the last few days before the traffic goes full blast . Have you guys experimented various driving styles with the the 4EAT? Is there a specific mode which helps the light-foot prodding that we can do? I usually drive on 'D' and Sport mode and while cruising, let up on the throttle at 2k RPM for the car to shift; haven't used manual mode since RPMs are still capped at 4k =)

And, where do you guys usually fill up? I'm using SeaOil extreme on our old car, but still hesitant on filling the XS up with it. Still sticking with XCS.

Lastly, for those who had their PMS, just want to ask what engine oil (grade/viscosity) have been used on your cars.

I used the tiptronic on the way down from Baguio city - helped a lot with engine braking. For a gunnit style overtake, tailgating a fast runner in 4th then pulling back on the stick to 3rd and flooring it when an opening comes is FUN, hehe.

I use XCS on my FXT. I usually fill up with Blaze with my other cars but with the FXT, I feel it performs better with XCS, go figure.

The required grade of motor oil is specified in the manual - the FXT uses a different grade to the 2.0. The MI rep was unsure if the casa was using Motul or Castrol synthetic when I asked him. He answered Motul but printed invoice indicated Castrol, he was unsure na.

I just keep mine in "D" all the time. Light-footed as much as possible in city driving. A little gunnit on highways and national roads. It's ok to exceed 4k RPM as long as it's not prolonged.

I only gas up with Petron XCS. Tried Shell Fuel Save and the engine didn't seem to like it.

I used Motul H-TECH Plus 0W20 on my 1600km PMS.

City break-in is really depressing, espcially when crawling from Guadalupe to Cubao coming from SLEX. Anyway, read that the manual recommends this, but haven't come across anything with 0w in stores. Least is 5w30. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough then

*desmosedici, sure sounds fun, especially on a XT. Not very comforable yet with how the gears are spaced in this transmission. Still got some trips to do before the first PMS so might as well do some experiments.

Use manual mode, if you want to save a bit of fuel by manually shifting every 2K rpm. If Left in D or auto, the transmission would wait for 2.5K to 3K (varying) before upshifting itself. Manual shifting is also useful for engine braking, etc..

As for the oil, I bought it online locally. Mobil1 0W-40 European Car Formula (Made in USA - silver bottle). This still comes out cheaper than using the oil (of questionable quality, brand, and viscosity) from Motor Image. If I remember correctly, locally in Ace they sell Mobil1 0W-40 (made in singapore or asia - Gold bottle).

As for fuel, I only use Blaze 100 for all my vehicles incl. the XS. I don't like any trace of Ethanol in the fuel system.

Naisip ko rin yang problems sa repairs. Based sa mga nabasa sa pag research ko kanina ay yung pearl white na 1 of my option ang mahirap repairin. may iba pa nga nagrereklamo sa factory paint job na di daw pantay. i PMd my suking paint shop to inquire sa experience nila sa kulay na yan, kung meron man. i hope positive reply nila kasi im leaning to white na as my choice.
