What the? 39M(for 6 years) for Hedo? I don't think Spurs will match the Magic offer... Kawawa si hedo pag hindi sya nag produce, parang yun kontrata ni Juwon Howard... wala na gusto kumuha sa kanya dahil malaki yun kontrata tsaka di naman "goto guy"
"Carlos Boozer and the Utah Jazz have agreed on a six-year, $68 million offer sheet, ESPN's David Aldridge reports.
It is a crushing blow to the Cleveland Cavaliers, who made Boozer an unrestricted free agent with the belief he would re-sign with them for their mid-level exception."
Langhiya nasilaw na sa pera si Boozer. Greedy Bastard!
yep kaya may option na tapatan ng Cavs yung offer ng Jazz. Unfortunately di na sila financially able to make a counter offer because of their current salary cap. They need to trade some of their players to free some space sa cap. Kaso bad blood na si Boozer ke Paxson sa ginawa niya kasi. He made a public annoucement na he will stay the cavs and accept their midlevel exception offer. Kaso mukhang nasulsulan nung agent niya.
yan kasi ang gamble ng mga owners kung ayaw nila iextend agad yung contract ng player, malaki risk na aalis sila... the west got another premier player...

Exactly, that's why offer sheet lang ang pinirmahan nila and not a contract. The player's mother team has the option to match the offer sheet or let the player go. Uso din dati sa PBA yan, kaya nga naging 25M yung suweldo ni Patrimonio dati (pucha ang tanda ko na!)
I believe that the Cavs had a "team option" for the coming season in Boozer's contract but they did'nt pick it up, believing that Boozer will re-up with them for the full Mid Level exception (6 years 40mil)... But the Jazz came up with a better offer (6 years and $68mil). Unless the Cavs can come up with a miracle and clear some cap space its bye bye Carlos.
The Cavs thought that they were doing Boozer a favor but in the end they got double crossed. Money talks.

Sobrang bilib ako sa management and coaching staff ng Utah... I mean, how many teams can do what they did last year having lost 2 of their hall of famers and backbone for the past 18 years and still almost made it to the playoffs with a bunch of young, no-namers.
this is funny and sad at the same time - Cleveland got screwed like you wouldn't believe.
they wanted to reward Boozer for his emergence as a promising young star (he made something like $700k last season), and also lock him up long term. so they tore up a valid contract that would pay him peanuts to give him a new lucrative one...tapos nasulutan sila ng Utah!! :bwahaha:
Utah has a great starting five now:
1 - Carlos Arroyo
2 - Gordan Giricek
3 - Andrei Kirilenko
4 - Carlos Boozer
5 - Mehmet Okur
speaking of getting screwed, i have a bad feeling that after we have done everything possible for kobe - get rid of phil and shaq, support him through his trial, kiss his a$$, etc. he will go out and sign with the clippers.
that would suck and i would hate him forever like no player i have ever hated before :swear:
other rumors:
- Kerry Kittles to Cleveland for Dajuan Wagner, Erick Williams and Kedrick Brown
- Nuggets are focusing on signing Kenyon Martin. The Nuggets could offer Martin a contract today
- Nuggets are pursuing Al Harrington

o'neal's agent just told espn that an agreement in principle has been reached (still pending a contract signing and league approval)
the deal is for brian grant, lamar odom, caron butler and a #1.
i think it's a bad trade for the lakers, but the kings have backed out, shaq doesn't want to play for the clippers, and dallas still won't give up dirk.
the lakers are now an undersized run-and-gun team that has no chance against the beasts of the west. their only hope is to get a good center (dampier?) and have a 100% healthy karl malone back. but even if this happens, they most likely have no chance this year.
congratulations kobe...you got what you wanted. now sign a contract for max money with the lakers and justify this unreasonable faith that the lakers have invested in your immature, selfish ass by carrying this team on your back :swear:
on the bright side, i still have a share of my company's heat season tickets, and i'll really enjoy seeing shaq and dwyane in action
