That is a very ignorant thing to say that.
What others do with their own money is none of your business.
Also, are you saying that just because people don't go to technical trails that they should buy a crappy bike too?
Or what if they go to different trails every time they ride? Is it required to buy a crappy bike to ride in a crappy trail and buy a nice bike for a very technical trail?

With regards to your comment about people buying SUVs - again, that's a stereotypical and very ignorant comment.
People I know who owns SUVs are people who have growing kids and they have upgrown their family van and sometimes a wagon or a sedan is not even practical to use. But regardless, why do you judge people and why do you care what people spend their money on?
No offense but people who earn their own money have all the right to spend on whatever they wish to buy or acquire.
Whatever their purpose is, it's their decision and I don't think they need other people's approval to do what they want to do.

Lastly, I have yet to meet a human being who is in the right mind and is buying a car (or any item) to look ugly.

Yung iba parang pang status symbol lang. They get the most expensive bike that they can afford but rarely do they get to make the most out of their bikes. But they do seem to have a lot of fb posts about their rides.

I guess it's the same deal with people buying SUV's to look rich/pogi.

^^^ You're misunderstanding his post. He mentioned some people, he did not generalize.

Huh? Minivans have more comfortable seating space compared to SUVs.

Typically, vans are purchased by families with new born babies. Since the doors slide and most newer vans now come with power sliding doors, it is easier to put the baby in and out of the vehicle than a SUV which is usually taller and the conventional door is harder to manage with a baby on the other hand. The past few years, I noticed though that a lot of younger couples don't want to buy a van (makes them look old) so they buy a small crossover.

I still have an old van though which I use for utility work (trip to Lowe's or Home Depot or even the occasional long drive when we need the seating capacity).

Anyone rides with rigid fork, single speed and hard tail? Most of my riding buddies graduated from full/front suspension setup to SS and rigid fork. Unfortunately, I'm not that talented to ride that kind of setup.
my rigid fork is limited to my roadbike. i love full sus bikes, but lately im become a weight weenie so hard tail is the way to go, just cant let go of my fork, that is one sacrifice in weight that im not giving up.

everybody starts somewhere, whether just biking in the subdivision or just going out to buy something at your sari sari store, different capacities lang in budget. i used to think like you, but hey we all have the same passion so now i respect all bikers whether low budget or high end bike gamit mo, basta hilig mo pumadyak ayos na.

my other passion is wrenching, tho my skills are limited and kulang sa tools. siguro dapat next na upgrade is a good set of toolkit, and repair stand

btw maraming dh courses sa timberland dati, there are still some gnarly trails there-patiis is still alive, im sure lost horizon still has some bikable sections. pestano had fast routes before

Patiis is still there but I think of it as separate from Timberland. Bans Mendoza supposedly built a track that even he hasn't even tried yet since he went to PMB, South Africa. There's also Antenna in Binangonan and Killer Loop in Bataan. Benguet and Sagada are just too far.

Pestano DH is still there but has lost some gnar.
