yes definitely madami tao nagka-covid virus at gumaling pero they never got tested so they never knew they had the virus

since pareho lang sa sipon at trangkaso ang sintomas people tend to dismiss it as ordinary cold/flu

or wala symptoms so lalo di maisipan magpatest diba?

lalo ngayon tag ulan medyo mas malamig madami nagkakasipon/trangkaso

    ilan lang naisip magpatest

usually mga edukado at maselan ang nagpapatest or gusto magpatest tulad ni Cathy

search nyo variolation and the story of lady montagu. interesting read

it's been theorized that if you wear a good mask you only let a tiny amount of sarscov2 thus a small viral load. then you go asymptomatic and possibly gain some immunity

Yes hindi pa gaanong infectious. Mababa pa viral load. That's why typically you shouldn't get tested immediately after exposure kasi prone to false negative yun.

WHO guideline is that you should get swabbed once you start exhibiting 3 or more symptoms (or 2 symptoms if it's fever and cough).

right after mahawaan di pa agad infectious

as the virus multiplies then a person starts to become infectious even before symptoms develop

meron time window where a swab will pick up the virus (too early or too late mag-ne-negative sa PCR)

pinaka-nakakahawa na time is the symptomatic phase including 1 to 2 days before symptoms show up

dunno how fast a super healthy infected person can clear the virus from his/her nasopharynx area

kahit mabilis ang immune system niya meron parin time period na infectious siya

The Belgians are in a deep sh*t...

Covid: Belgian doctors with coronavirus asked to keep working - BBC News

One in three people tested are coming back positive with the virus in the eastern Belgian city. Hospitals are transferring patients elsewhere and cancelling non-urgent surgeries, days after Health Minister Frank Vandenbroucke warned the country was close to a "tsunami" of infections where authorities "no longer control what is happening".

It has been theorized that the virus has been circulating since December/January. I have a friend who got really sick with a flu like illness after traveling to HK last January. He was a very healthy athlete and keep claiming that he might have gotten the covid virus then, although IgG antibody test and swab test done to him a few months ago was all negative.

Most of the people who i have talked to who got infected will recall a lapse in judgment that may have lead to the infection. Almost all of them recalled having an instance wherein they lowered their mask. It was either to scratch an itchy nose or to talk clearly on the phone.

Now the question is why is one person's mask lowering will result in an infection while you see a lot people outside doing the same thing yet not getting infected?
I guess this is my understanding on how people get infected and how the virus infects.
A person needs a minimum critical viral load to produce the Covid19 infection. The amount needed is different from person to person which is based that persons immune response/health/age/etc. Older and immune compromised patients may need a lower viral load than a healthy young adult. The guidelines set by the WHO/CDC/IATF will prevent healthy people from getting the critical viral load to produce a covid19 infection. Proper mask wearing, social distancing, hand washing, etc will prevent excess or large amount of viruses to enter our body. Certain area's and situations increase or decrease to chances of getting a critical viral infection load.
Talking/interaction with an a/symptomatic Covid + patient doesn't necessarily mean that you will get infected too, if you follow all suggested protocol then chances are you might not get infected although you might get labeled as PUI. Increased talk/interaction with the covid+ patient will also increase your chances of getting the critical viral load, that is why in the latest WHO/CDC (not sure which one) Guidelines states a minimum social interactive time. They suggest a minimum interaction of 10 mins i think. Sorry i can't seem to find that link.

There are also some people who shed a lot more viral particles than others. Hence the term super spreaders. And those who don't shed much. I think I've posted this here before. Someone we know who was symptomatic and positive was taken by car to the hospital. Rode in the rear right seat. Both driver and patient were wearing surgical masks. Driver tested negative after a week of exposure. The patient's family also didn't get infected despite being close contacts.

Pabili ka ng vitamin c plus zinc or sodium ascorbate plus zinc.
    That would help

^Thanks, yes I ordered sa shopee Zinc 50 mg and Ester C 500 mg (acidic kasi ako) Ang dami ko na nga iniinom na supplements ngayon 8 na, so these 2 will add pa. Ako yung madaming iniinom pero sakitin pa rin

I could be one of those people na sinasabi ni deestone na hindi lumalabas at maingat and still caught it. Sa dami kasi ng sakit ko, I know that it will be a death sentence for me kaya even my friends are saying OA protocols ko. I pray to God talaga that I don't have it because I swear on my Lola's grave na wala ako lapses on that ONE TIME in 8 months that I decided to go to the market. I never took off my face mask from time I got into the car and I got home. I wore face shield too, tinanggal ko lang while driving. My only suspicion, may 2 ako nabilhan na vendor na walang suot na mask. Diba sabi nila the mask protects others and not you, so baka may nalanghap pa rin ako na virus pero minimal? I go to mercury once a month pero I never got sick, siguro dahil bawal pumasok sa mercury ng walang face mask at lahat may temp check tapos disinfect pa feet.

I read about this too. Naisip ko nga if this happened to me but then I have fever and no other symptoms, still praying that this will go away soon

I am thinking of getting tested na nga. I went out Oct 16 and my fever started Oct 23, I am on my 4th day already, though I have no other symptoms. There is also a part of me that is scared to take the test because if I do come out positive then I will be forced to leave home since I live with seniors. Nakakatakot magkasakit mag isa sa hotel or wherever tapos iisipin ko pa family ko, paano sila pag wala ako. Hindi nga kami nagpapa pasok ibang tao. This is really a nightmare. Hinding hindi na talaga ko lalabas ng bahay

I told my Mom I think I have the virus e nagalit sakin called me hypochondriac. Paano hypo e my temp does not lie?

Again Cathy, wearing of masks doesn't prevent you from catching the virus, especially if the person you are talking to doesn't wear one. Wearing of masks is to prevent you, the wearer, from transmitting the virus, if you have it, to your surroundings.

Yes that's why I know there is a possibility that I caught the virus when I went to the market dahil may 2 vendors (mag asawa) ako binilhan that were not wearing masks. I hate myself kasi sa sobrang uncomfortable ko sa labas hindi immediate sakin na wala palang face mask mga nabilhan ko, na pansin ko na lang a few seconds after hindi ko naman masabi na cancel na kasi wala sila face mask Kaya if I get better at wala talaga ko virus, lalong never na ko lalabas. Dahil kahit anong protection gawin ko sa sarili ko, there will always be people who do not care about infecting others.

Pero babalik tayo sa question na bakit yung vendors na yun (suki ko sila for years) they don't wear masks pero hindi nagkasakit. They asked me bakit tagal ko nawala and shocked na since March di ako punta market

apparently you drank WHO's kool aid. pati na si uls WHO lost credibility early on because of their wrong recommendations on mask wearing. basically they lied to the public so that there wouldn't be a mask shortage for medical personnel

fact is masks DO prevent you from getting the virus but only if it seals against your face and has high-level filtration, preferably better than N95 level
