Vaccine: Getting close to the finish line
BABE’S EYE VIEW FROM WASHINGTON D.C. - Ambassador B. Romualdez (The Philippine Star

Vaccine: Getting close to the finish line | Philstar.com
I was shocked to find out that DOH Secretary Duque has not signed a simple thing as a CDA with Pfizer.
I’m still dumbfounded why Sec. Duque has not signed the CDA. The other day, the State Department informed us the US government has ordered an excess of vaccines which they said will be made available to “close allies” like the Philippines. But what can I say? Countries like Japan, Thailand, Vietnam and so many others are already ahead of us.
Several big corporations such as ICTSI, SM, the Lucio Tan Group, San Miguel, the PLDT Group and other entities with a large number of employees have signified their intention to purchase the Pfizer vaccines for their workers and their families, significantly reducing the need for DOH to purchase the vaccines as they will just need our government’s approval.
pareho sa natural infection -- pag nahawa mga 60 and up mabagal ang immune response
kaya nagiging severe and critical mga older people coz the virus is able to multiply without a lot of interference
by the time the immune system decides to respond the viral load is already high so the immune system goes crazy trying to fight the virus --- the exaggerated immune response injures/kills the person
sa mas bata mabilis ang immune response... the immune system is able to suppress the virus early
kaya no symptoms or mild lang
parang everyone once in a while nabubuhay ang discussion tungkol sa mask
the bottom line is you need to get society to cooperate wearing mask
kahit cloth mask o surgical mask basta lahat ng tao naka mask properly mababawasan ang infection rate
kahit naka N95 ka kung ang kausap mo tumatalsik ang droplets and microdroplets you'll get virus on your skin your hair your clothes
i wonder, which is better?
the correct mask worn incorrectly or infrequently,
or the incorrect mask worn correctly and frequently?
you're protecting people around you when you sneeze into a kleenex
you're not protecting people around you when you sneeze directly into the air
you're effin selfish
you're selfish when you're not wearing a mask or not wearing it properly
Thanks. We have N95 at home, my Aunt bought it in January before the pandemic hit hard pero more or less 10 pcs lang so I use surgical mask. I got one in shopee made it Vietnam and it's 4 ply, looks very well made at I did the tests
Yes I do the water, fire and blow tests when I buy a mask
doc when I first wore e mask grabe ang fogging but when I figured it out, dapat naka press or kapit talaga sa bridge ng nose yung mask
Uncomfortable talaga to breathe with a mask pero grabe naman yung may ganyan unless may lung issue yung tao. My Lola is 94 yrs old and she could wear a mask for 3 to 4 hrs ng walang tanggalan
YES this makes me feel so frustrated, I went to the palengke last Friday at may vendors na wala talaga mask. Now I feel paranoid baka I caught somethingMinsan kasi hindi automatic nag register sakin na the person does not have mask pala. Pero yung vendors na nasa "labasan" naka mask talaga, I guess kasi dahil kita at mabilis masita.

I wonder though pag dating ng summer if most people would still wear face mask and face shield especially pag nasa labas lang at hindi air conditioned. Hirap talaga huminga ng face mask at face shield combo but since mostly nasa mall kami namimili eh hindi masyado mahirap. I haven't tried it on sidewalks yet with scorching heat of the sun.

Come next month expect more people won’t be wearing face masks and will be going out in clusters. Filipino memory is a curse.

i think face masks will be in for the long haul here in pinas. i mean even before the pandemic broke out, there were a lot of pinoys who were wearing them already either because
a. they were afflicted w/ the common cough and cold, or
b. it was to protect themselves from the dust and automotive exhaust out on the pavement, w/c is a pandemic in itself.
as for face shields, i was in the mall last night and i noticed they're now becoming fashion statements too. i myself decided to replace my large and forehead digging face shield to a sleeker more comfy acrylic one. i even bought one w/ an eye catching royal blue frame just for kicks.but i have a tinge of buyer's regret because i think i want the purple one

When you abandon health protocols at the first sign of the drop in new cases... Forever na ang mask wearing.
Whole of Europe now has more new cases vs USA. Winter is coming.

I don't want to live in a world of face masks and face shields. Kawawa din mga seniors spending their retirement at home when they should be enjoying their lives at least seeing family and friends.
I can deal with masks pa but the shield is SO UNCOMFORTABLE. Ang hirap talaga makakita and I don't know if I am talking too loud kasi iba tunog when I wear a shield. Mabubulok na ata mga make up koSa mundo ngayon di na importante mukha kasi natatakpan, katawan na dapat pagandahin talaga hehe.
