Sa simula lang ganun kasi imported ang virus. So those who were infected were the ones who are capable of flying out and in of the country.

Pero ngayon na community transmission na usapan, wala na yan pipiliin. Basta humina immunity mo tapos na-infect ka, symptoms may manifest.

That will include asymptomatic and mild symptoms. Malamang meron mag sikreto na lang ng symptoms nila para wag mawalay sa pamilya. And isn't forcibly taking someone away from their home without consent is considered abduction na?

That's true. Dapat i check nila if the home can accommodate total quarantine like may room na may own toilet and bath na. Yun lang naman ang kailangan e.

Sana may choice where to stay, wag naman dun sa facility nila na parang mas lalo ka pa magkasakit like example a hotel na accredited. Yung BFF ko kasi she came from abroad, sa Ascott Makati siya pina quarantine (may accredited hotels daw)

Hirap kasi bantayan... may ibang nakaquarantine lumalabas at kipagkuwentuhan pa. I think that was one of the recommendations of the mainland doctors a long time ago.

The government has allowed asymptomatic and mild COVID-19 cases to home quarantine, provided that there is a separate room and toilet for the patient and government protocols are strictly followed. This proved to be difficult to regulate for the government, and has been cited as among the possible reasons driving coronavirus cases in the country.

A home quarantine for COVID-19 patients is not effective in containing the spread of the disease, according to the 12-man team of Chinese experts who are in the Philippines to assess the country’s response to the pandemic.

According to a 24 Oras report by Raffy Tima on Monday, the Chinese experts said it will be difficult to ensure that COVID-19 patients will stay inside their homes for the duration of the quarantine.

“Kasi minsan ‘yung mga tao raw hindi mo talaga ma-control kung saan pupunta, so kapag COVID suspect ka… i-a-admit ka hanggang malaman kung ikaw ay positive o hindi,” Philippine General Hospital (PGH) spokesperson Dr. Jonas del Rosario said.

The team also said that the quarantine facilities that have so far been set up across the country are still insufficient to accommodate COVID-19 patients.

The Department of Health earlier said that three of the eight quarantine facilities in Metro Manila and Region 3 have already begun accepting patients.

Meanwhile, the PGH said they will not be able to adopt some of the recommendations of the Chinese team due to constraints in staffing and equipment.

The Chinese experts had recommended that N95 masks only be used for four hours.

They also recommended four-hour shifts for staff as well.

Feeling ko nga lalo magkakasakit sa quarantine facilty ng government e one big space lang tabi tabi pa so they are breathing the same air, at ilang ang T&B dun? Dapat 1 person 1 room talaga ang ideal, sabi friend ko meron naman nga pala choice of hotels so pwede naman sa more affordable

DOH sings different tune, urges home quarantine if conditions are met

The Department of Health (DOH) sang a different tune on Tuesday, September 8, after Interior Secretary Eduardo Año said the government was eyeing a ban on home quarantine of COVID-19 patients.

In a statement, the DOH explained it "has always been consistent" in saying facility-based quarantine "is preferred." The agency said, however, that the home quarantine option "needed to be considered" as they built more treatment and monitoring facilities.

According to the DOH, home quarantine "is encouraged only when all of the following (not just some) requirements are strictly met":

the patient should have a solo room and solo toilet
the patient should not be living with elderly persons
the patient undergoing home quarantine is regularly monitored by their Barangay Health Emergency Response Team

81/115 labs but double that of yesterday's new cases...

As of 4PM today, September 8, 2020, the Department of Health reports the total number of COVID-19 cases at 241,987.

DOH likewise announces 286 recoveries. This brings the total number of recoveries to 185,178.

A total of 3,281 confirmed cases are reported based on the total tests done by 81 out of 115 current operational labs. 34 labs failed to submit their data to the COVID-19 Data Repository System (CDRS).

Note: Of the 3,281 reported cases today, 2,932 (89%) occurred within the recent 14 days (August 26 - September 8, 2020). The top regions with cases in the recent two weeks were NCR (1,275 or 43%), Region 4A (743 or 25%) and Region 3 (292 or 10%).Of the 26 deaths, 14 occurred in September (54%), 8 in August (31%) and 4 in July (15%). Deaths were from NCR (9 or 35%), Region 7 (4 or 15%), Region 4A (3 or 12%), Region 9 (2 or 8%), Region 11 (2 or 8%), Region 4B (2 or 8%), Region 5 (1 or 4%), Region 6 (1 or 4%), and Region 8 (1 or 4%).

There were 21 duplicates that were removed from the total case count. Of these, 7 recovered cases have been removed.

Moreover, there were seven (7) cases that were previously reported as recovered but after final validation, they were deaths.

These numbers undergo constant cleaning and validation.
