According to a version re-posted on Twitter, dead bodies covered in white sheets were seen being left to lie in a hospital corridor, crammed with medical workers and patients.

A woman, believed to be the blogger, can be heard saying from behind the camera: 'Three corpses, [they] have been lying here all morning. Some of them died in the wee hours. Nobody has come to deal with [them] yet.

'And doctors, nurses and patients, they all work in such an environment. This is what is going on in a designated hospital. Not a single person is here to manage.'

In the post, the self-proclaimed nurse accused hospitals of covering up the truth of the epidemic, claiming that doctors were refusing to issue formal diagnoses to coronavirus patients in order to keep the number of confirmed cases at a lower level.

She said that her husband had had a fever for eight days and been found to have an infection in the lungs, but no hospitals were willing to receive him.

Furthermore, all of the hospitals refused to provide her husband with appropriated virus scans or give him an official diagnosis, she claimed.

The post then claimed that the local hospitals were seriously overrun and the medics were forced to work day and night.

-The emergency centre is expected to be up and running by next Wednesday

-An expert warned the outbreak could be 10 times worse than the SARS epidemic

-Wuhan, a provincial capital of 11million people, has been put under lockdown

Let me just put this into perspective. No doctor jargon, just plain simple terms.

---Its flu and cold season in their part of the world.
---A lot of people stay indoors in close quarters to each other with no ventilation (to keep warm), so conducive ito to pass on illness.
---Very low ang humidity (20% or lower), this dries out the mucuous membrane of your respiratory tract, making you more prone to infections.
---The cold is another stressor, which may lower immunity as well.

So madami ang may sipon, ubo, lagnat, trangkaso.

Now, you have this pathogen ("germ") going around that nobody knows much about, and you have some irresponsible sensationalist media (note: the Daily Mail is a British TABLOID), the usual nagmamarunong internet savants (may nag post pa ng link of a paper from the Faculty of Medicine of the ICL na hindi naman naintindihan ng tama -sorry ha?) and the tsismoso who post their speculations as FACTS, guess what do you get?

So for the poor folks there in Wuhan, every cough, sneeze, cold or other manifestation of a respiratory tract infection possible Coronavirus case na. People are panicking, overwhelming the existing healthcare infrastructure... and sorry to say this, but by fueling BASELESS speculations, SOME PEOPLE ARE SIMPLY JUST NOT HELPING.

Yes, a few people have died (but just an M.D.'s educated guess- these were more likely the immunucompromised, the elderly, the young, and the weak who were in pretty bad shape to begin with before they got infected and succumbed to complications). The way its being portrayed, akala mo people are dropping like flies like some holocaust (Seen too many Hollywod zombie epidemic movies siguro...)

Yes, may mga videos na hinihimatay, but honestly? I'm not too sure. Pwede rin from the mass hysteria... I've never heard of a case of a patient suddenly dropping dead like that (dead ba talaga?) from kahit SARS or MERS which was far worse. Kung meron man, it could have been from a heart attack for all we know...

Why the lockdown then? Let me choose my words carefully-- there's an emerging, not well understood disease in signifcant enough numbers of people for the medical authorities there to consider it an outbreak. Since there's no quick and cost effective test (yet) to determine who's sick or not (and rule out its a strain of the flu, a cold or something else...) for the whole population, you try to limit its spread by limiting the movement of possible carriers by quarantine. Tama.

You try to control it the best you can (hold the fort like Bataan) to buy time until enough research comes in so the world will know how to fight it properly.

    ===
Hindi lang ito problem ng China. Walang sinasantong lahi, or bayan ang sakit. It's a global concern and a global fight. Pakiusap lang, do some good in the world and do your share by not spreading baseless runors and speculation. Spreading lies and disinformation is like the black ops & spies of the enemy who are there just to sow confusion and demoralize people.
