Essentially siniraan ni roque ung wondfo. Kesyo sa UK, palpak daw ung mga wondfo test kits. Kaya wag daw un ang bibilhin and dahil gawang china. Check daw muna patents tapos un daw ang bilhin na test kits.

Ang sabi naman is, baka mmya sinabi ni roque na wag un ang bilhin, tapos pag natengga ung stocks ng wondfo sa mga suppliers, yun ang bibilhin ng government for their mass testing para nakamura sila.

Anyway, like any chemical reagents, temperature sensitive ang mga test. Better to be refrigerated.

while it may seem that interpretation of these results may seem black and white,
in a significant number of times, it's a questionable grey area.
one possibility is that the molecules being measured are not plentiful enough.
the person has not yet produced detectable-enough levels of antibodies, enough to satisfy the sensitivity capabilities of the test kit.

i mentioned this before... SARSCOV-2 antibody test kits are either too sensitive or too specific

too sensitive it might pick up antibodies to other coronaviruses (the less harmful ones that cause common cold)

so mag false positive ka

too specific naman (specifically looking for SARSCOV-2 antibodies ONLY) pwede ka naman mag false negative

not to mention you won't develop antibodies to SARSCOV-2 if you're newly infected so false negative din

Shouldn’t the Government stop implementing those chokepoints? Kaya naman traffic dahil dyan sa checkpoint.

Efficient pa ba yan? Causing more harm and traffic than good.

I’ve experienced yung sa edsa, ipon lang talaga dahil may cones at merging mga sasakyan pero by the time na ikaw na yung dadaan wala lang din. Never pa ako pinagbukas ng bintana at natanong.

Ganun din dun sa checkpoint dito nearby sa amin pag pauwi ako.

To add Inopen mo ang mall, shempre lalabas ang tao. Para lang din yan nung nag open ng drive thru ang Starbucks [emoji23]

Not only PAL but with other airlines especially those budget airlines. Airasia for example will be giving at least 1year until next year for you to book your flight no refund since you availed their low fare.

My brother is an ICU nurse sa Orange county They've been using Remdesivir sa mag patients na malala. Next na daw nila sasaksakan is using typical case. If naging okay daw result. By September buong US na gagamitin yun Remdesivir. As of now daw may ilan states lang.

One thing I realized from this pandemic - the rich will stay rich, the poor will stay poor, and the middle class are one crisis away from poverty.

Most of my well-to-do friends have had to shut down their businesses amidst the pandemic, but even if this goes on for years, they will never go hungry. They just have too much capital and connections to fail and end up with nothing.

The vulnerabilities of the poor are highlighted even more in this ECQ. Day-to-day wages, reliance on public transportation, lack of healthcare support - things that we take for granted but could literally mean life and death for millions of Filipinos.

And the middle class - what happens when you lose your salary, what happens when your SME suddenly has to close, or when a loved one gets complications from COVID and cannot be covered by government? One bad hit and you can get wiped out.

I think kaya naman maiwasan kung talagang mag-iingat but knowing Filipinos matitigas talaga ulo. Kung talagang susunod na mag mask ng maayos then keep the distance saka wala ng tsismisan and lumabas lang for work and uwi agad sa bahay after. Plus hugas ng hugas ng kamay.

Remember these truths:

1. The influenza pandemic occurred in three (3) waves during 1918 and 1919. The first wave began in March 1918 and lasted throughout the summer of 1918. But the more devastating second wave occurred in September to December of 1918.

2. The first wave didn't appear to be particularly deadly, with symptoms like high fever and malaise usually lasting only 3 days. Just like the seasonal flu, it appeared to target only the very young and the very old.

3. After the first wave, people thought that the worse was over. In retrospect, it was only the calm before the storm.

4. After the 1st wave, a MUTATED strain of the Spanish flu virus had emerged somewhere in Europe, and it had the power to kill a perfectly healthy young individual within 24 hours of showing the first signs of infection!

5. During the 2nd wave of infection from September through November of 1918, the death rate from the Spanish flu skyrocketed. In the US alone, 195,000 Americans died from the Spanish flu in just the month of October.

6. The second (2nd) wave of the Spanish flu claimed the lives of otherwise healthy 25- to 35-year-old individuals in the prime of their lives.

7. By December 1918, the deadly second wave of the Spanish flu had finally passed, but the pandemic was far from over. A third wave erupted in Australia in January 1919 and eventually worked its way back to Europe and the United States.

8. The mortality rate of the third wave was just as high as the second wave. All in all, the global mortality of the Spanish Flu was estimated to have been anywhere from 17 million to 50 million, and possibly as high as 100 million, making it one of the deadliest pandemics in human history.

MORAL LESSON? To those who are treating the lifting of the ECQ as some sort of a new year’s countdown, you only need to brush up on history because those who do not learn from the past are doomed to repeat it.

Shared by my former high school classmates. Both in the medical field and based in the US:

- We have several patients being seen by nurses and therapists at home after being hospitalized and cleared of symptoms.
Within 3 weeks, 3/7 patients were hospitalized again, tested positive (again) within 48 hours from hospital admission.
Age group are 31-72 y/o.

- There is still a lot to learn from this virus. One theory I read from our Med frat group is that it acts like SARS (hits various organs but mainly lungs) but it also have some AIDS characteristic that those who turn out to be negative (no virus detected in test) actually still has the virus but hiding somewhere until it multiplies again & can be detected again. Therefore those who got well or recovered actually still had the virus in the body & can still be contagious & can come out again.

Thirteen sailors aboard the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt have tested positive again for Covid-19 after recovering from the disease and returning to the ship, which has been stranded in Guam since late March after an outbreak of the virus, according to two U.S. defense officials.

The Roosevelt's crew began returning to the ship in late April after spending a month either in quarantine or isolation in Guam. But sailors in early May began showing symptoms of the virus, such as a cough and fever, despite testing negative twice.

Some of the sailors who returned to the ship showed expanded symptoms, including body aches and headaches, according to one official. This has slowed the move back onto the ship, as all sailors who return must have been symptom-free for three days and have tested negative twice, as well as completed their isolation period.

At the start of the lockdown, I was expecting that after a few weeks, people will be on the streets begging, or worst, looting, robbing people’s homes for food. But it never happened.

What I witnessed were long lines at supermarkets and money remittance centers. These are clearly the lower middle class and the very poor lining up. So after all, may pera pa din kahit pinakamahihirap?
