dapat meron ganyan sa mga workplace
the studies are on-going.
"it's too early and too few to tell, what the results really are."
"one does not make an earth-shaking conclusion, based on just a few findings."
there are only some 1,300 recovereds daw in the local market, and exclusion criteria will surely whittle this seemingly-large number of potential donors, to only a few.
ang problema sa rapid test kit (antibody test)...
sensitivity and specificity
pag sobra sensitive ang test, baka mag false positive
coz it might detect antibodies for other coronaviruses
as Dr D said, coronaviruses look alike
pag masyado specific naman ang test (looking for very specific antibodies to SARSCOV2), baka mag false negative
since the test will try to rule out antibodies to other coronaviruses, it might miss antibodies to SARSCOV2
kaya ung rapid test should find the right balance ng sensitivity and specificity
iba iba pa naman ang quality ng mga rapid test kit
Coronavirus: US report identifies most accurate antibody tests | Daily Mail Online
Sure Biotech's test had the most promising results with 100 percent specificity. The company has labs in Hong Kong, mainland China and the US. The study results found its test to be even more accurate than it claims it is on its own website.
from the article:
looks like the chinatard test is quite accurateTwo separate studies of 14 antibody tests carried out by a team of 50 researchers working for the Covid Testing Project in San Francisco, who were partly funded by Mark Zuckerburg's charity, the Chan Zuckerburg Biohub, and others at Massachusetts General Hospital found that only three - Sure Biotech, Wondfo Biotech and and one in-house made by the researchers - had an accuracy rate of more than 99 percent.

btw Cathy if you see the above
i'm not flaming SE
i'm only pointing out the test kit brand mentioned in the article is the same brand posted by SE
...not really...
coronaviruses do look alike under the electron microscope. but their antigenic differences may be seen only if we do antigen testing. EM can't do that well-enough.
while the manufacture of antibody tests seems pretty straightforward enough on paper,
in actual practice, its manufacture involves tons of quality control issues.
and it can not be rushed. some authors have said that they do not expect good test kits to be available in the market as early as june or august.
but it is a race out there... the first good test that arrives at the pier, stands to make lots of money.
at present, our own govt offices are evaluating the various tests. they should be coming up with their recommendations in the near future.
puede ba nating bilhin sa mercury? i do not know.

COVID19 invasion? China invasion siguro pwede.

yes looking at a coronavirus using an electron microscope won't tell you if it's SARSCOV2 or another coronavirus coz they look the same but our body knows how to make antibodies specific to SARSCOV2
but there's risk that a test might not be specific enough to differentiate antibodies to SARSCOV2 and other coronaviruses and give you a false positive result

If you are an asymptomatic carrier of the corona virus does it mean that you are relatively a healthy person and the virus cannot activate to cause harm to your body?
by definition, an asymptomatic carrier is clinically healthy.
but it is not known, if the virus of the asymptomatic carrier can wreak havoc to your body at any time in the future. some diseases are like that: they remain dormant in the body for long periods of time, waiting for "an appropriate time" for them to re-activate.
it is not exactly known, if an asymptomatic carrier is capable of passing on the infection to others.
it is not known how long asymptomatic covid 19 carriers remain asymptomatic, or when the virus will finally exit their bodies.
it will take some time, to find the answers to these questions.

Sorry na daw to the oligarchs, nagsisisi na siya sa mga sinasabi nya against ayala, pangilinan, et al. Ingat lang daw sa mga NPA (parang na-cut yata), hindi connected eh. Ah basta, good boy na daw siya at hindi na bastos pero less than 2 minutes nag mura na. [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]
Anyway, P30K na naman pabuya sa sino mang magsumbong sa mga local officials na ninakaw ang 4Ps.
Hizon nailed it when he talked about mass testing ang mega quanratine facilities. Except for his ala-nazi jacket and switching between calling digong mayor and mr president, he made a good point on how to address this pandemic.
