tested negative and discharged from hospital

then later on tested positive again?

    remnants of virus?

    not so fast

like i said there's still a lot of unknowns

too early to conclude that "recovered" means cleared of virus

ok if non-SARSCOV2 coronaviruses can be found deep in the lungs why can't SARSCOV2?

    they can.
it is one theory that can explain why pcr still detects viral fragments, despite seeming recovery.

but the electron microscope is not capable of easily differentiating the different types of coronavirus... covid 19, SARS, MERS..

point is if there's SARSCOV2 still in the lungs of those who recovered but there was too little virus in the nose/throat area where they swab, the PCR test will come out negative

eventually the virus would be detectable again in the nose/throat area

what if the virus never really goes away

like HIV can only be suppressed by antiretrovirals but when you stop taking the drugs the virus comes back

    now you're getting it.
"we still know very little about covid 19."

these are routine basic questions tackled in infectious disease lectures in medical school.

why is the sample negative for organism?
    -because there is none
-because you did not sample adequately
-because there is very few of them, they are not seen
-because the antibiotics on board, are keeping them at bay
-because you did not use the correct collecting equipment
    -because you manhandled the sample
-because you got your sample from the wrong location

if it is positive for organism,
-is it the cause of the disease ?
-is it "just there for the ride" ?
    -is it "normal flora" ?
-is it a secondary infection ?
    -is it a contaminant ?

as many folks, doctors included, are finding out,
infectious disease is not a simple "meron-o-wala" thing.

I don't get the logic of "hard lockdown" to be implemented in Tondo 1 for 2 days only. Nothing would be accomplished within those 2 days. Baka mas lumala pa nga because people are flocking the markets to prepare for those 2 days.

I think these 2-day hard lockdowns imposed by yorme are punishments for not following the government order of staying at home and social distancing, not to curb the outbreak.

Still doesn't make sense, ganon din yun. Nag panic tao mag store ng food. Sabay sabay pumunta sa palengke at groceries. Dun sila magkakahawahan.

A scheduled lockdown only creates panic na pumunta lahat sa palengke at groceries na sabay sabay.

The Sampaloc 2 day lockdown achieved very little in slowing the spread.

Besides targetted testing, which they haven't even released the results...

moreno was just flexing his muscles. the mayor was just showing he can do another lockdown if the people of manila do not follow his directives.

it's probably just me pero i hope he drops that "yorme" schtick he wants to be addressed or known as. na-tritrivialize iyong opisina at mga sanctity ng notable achievements niya. pero syempre kelangan maging showbiz para sa politika.
