In Trump's words:
“It’s not racist at all,” Trump said, adding that he calls it the “Chinese virus” because he wants to be accurate. He indicated his terminology was a warranted pushback to Chinese officials who have been suggesting the U.S. military might have introduced the virus to Wuhan, the Chinese city where it was first reported in late 2019.
“China had tried to say at one point — maybe they stopped now — that it was caused by American soldiers,” Trump said. “That can’t happen. It’s not going to happen, not as long as I’m president. It comes from China.”
And, as long as I am in Tsikot, it is the WUHAN CHINA VIRUS

Trump like to insult and vllify whoever he sees as a threat to his re-election. Despite China medial problem hitting it for months and many in the US health services screaming at him to prepare for it's eventual arrival, Trump ignored and downplayed the threat. Now that it has hit the US hard, he is using the same tactic as DU30 (sasampalin kong Veerus na iyan) and blaming others for the inadequacies instead of owning up his failure to prepare for the inevitable.
So Cathy please watch this video before praising a megalomaniac... don't be a cheerleader for SE et al. You are an admin but your bias is not comforting.

So I'm not allowed to express my support for a politician just because I'm a modeator? And besides I'm not the only mod around here.
Totoo naman the virus came from China and btw I've called Trump a narcissist several times but this time I agree with him

It is the PUIs that are overwhelming the system because of the lack of testing kits.

Tama naman eh, alam ko na discussed na rin dito bakit Hinde tinawag na Wuhan virus eh yun mga ibang virus eh named after kung saan galing.
Kaya tama lang China or Chinese virus itawag diyan. Kahirap hirap na covid-19, Ncvo. Para sa history book malaman kung saan galing.

Coronavirus: Trump's 'Chinese virus' phrase helps him deflect COVID-19 blame | US News | Sky News
At least he realized he cannot go around with his campaign stumps anymore being a germaphobe and his re election bid is starting to come undone.
Before Monday, he'd been calling it the coronavirus - so why the shift? There has been another recent change in Mr Trump's tone.
He is now taking this public health crisis seriously. He accepted it could cause a recession and its grip on America could last well into the summer which is just a couple of months from November's election.
Alongside the realisation of how grave this situation is, Mr Trump seems to have reached an awareness that the buck stops with him. If millions of Americans die, it will be on his watch.
Calling it the 'Chinese virus' is a way of deflecting blame.
His fail-safe that was supposed to keep him in the White House is in tatters.
Blaming China is his way of taking the heat off himself.
Saying it repeatedly and publicly is his way of coaching voters into seeing it that way too.

Seeking place to blame, Trump uses term for COVID-19 that advocacy groups say is connected to anti-Asian bias - ABC News
The World Health Organization, though, said in 2015 that geographic locations "should be avoided" when naming infectious diseases, in order to avoid "stigmatizing certain communities or economic sectors." Disease names can "provoke a backlash against members of particular religious or ethnic communities," a WHO official noted at the time, and the organization noted amid the current pandemic that certain names "can have unintended consequences in terms of creating unnecessary fear for some populations."
Asian American groups in the United States said that term "Chinese virus" -- and others like it -- has been associated with some of the reported incidents of discrimination against Asian Americans nationwide connected to COVID-19.
There have been physical assaults reported in New York, vandalism in California, and many more incidents of name-calling and similar discrimination, according to the civil rights coalition Asian Americans Advancing Justice, which created a website where Asian Americans could report bias incidents related to COVID-19.
Asked Wednesday during a news conference about that incident, Trump first repeated the term to cameras and added that he was not concerned terms like it and "Chinese virus" put Asian Americans at risk, despite the evidence otherwise.
“No, no, not at all,' Trump said. "No, not at all. I think they probably would agree with it, 100%. It comes from China, there's nothing not to agree.”
