    it depends.
are these statistics generated from a sub-population that asked to be tested because they were symptomatic?
or are these numbers generated from a population that asked to be tested, for reasons other than symptomatology?
i expect the former to have a higher positive percentage result, compared to the latter.

    but i agree,
the numbers now are significantly higher than some time back's.

there are many ways we can word our headlines, depending on what our objective is.
a consistent reason for the headline, is to attract attention.

it is prudent to read the entire article first, taking care to read and understand the details behind the denominator, before making one's decision.
and read other similar articles also, to see if they are saying the same thing.

ang daming printed literature nowadays, that mention only those "information" that support the writers'... needs.

It used to be a requirement to get a RT-PCR test, even just to attend a party... hehehe

    doing some probably non-sequitur computations,

    at 23 % positivity rate,
if we extrapolate that to slightly-more-than-one-in-five testing positive,
    in five days,
    1/5 x 5 = 5/5.
... in five days, practically everybody in the country is positive already!
    ... where's my error...?

I went to the bank today and none of the clients were wearing masks, only the employees and myself. They should make masks mandatory again. Tumataas na naman cases, I personally know several na nag positive. I'm not wishing for a lockdown but at least mandate masks naman.
