“If we can test more people – whether they have no symptoms, mild or severe disease – the results, including the case fatality rate, are more accurate and representative when the whole disease spectrum is taken into consideration,” said David Hui Shu-cheong, an expert in respiratory medicine at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. “Most countries just focus on testing the hospitalised patients who obviously have more severe disease, and [thus] the fatality rate is high.”

Amid mounting criticism, the administration of President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that the US Centres for Disease Control and Prevention would lift all restrictions on testing, paving the way for mass screening by state, local and private laboratories.

Of all countries i think South Korea's data is the most accurate

i mean ung fatality rate

coz they test so many people, lumalabas na most cases aren't serious

they have 0.6% fatality rate

the reason why mataas ang fatality rate sa ibang bansa coz they only test the sick ones (those who have symptoms so bad that they have to go to hospital)

eh malala na mga yan so chances are many of them will die

if you test more people you'll get those without symptoms and mild symptoms they're unlikely to die so mas mababa ang lalabas na fatality rate
