We also need to hope that the virus does not develop a completely different spike protein and (ACE2) binding mechanism remains unchanged. Different variants that are spreading out right now can easily be neutralized with booster shots, but if covid-19 develops a different spike protein then biotech companies will need to resarch+manufacture another covid vaccine, this will need another operation warp speed from the USA.

“The most frightening thing to the government and the Ministry of Health is the burden on hospitals,” says Dror Mevorach, who cares for COVID-19 patients at Hadassah Hospital Ein Kerem and advises the government. At his hospital, he is lining up anesthesiologists and surgeons to spell his medical staff in case they become overwhelmed by a wave like January’s, when COVID-19 patients filled 200 beds. “The staff is exhausted,” he says, and he has restarted a weekly support group for them “to avoid some kind of PTSD [post-traumatic stress disorder] effect.”

They also have to consider that a lot of metro manila workers live in Region IV-A and have gotten their vaccine in their place of work under the A4 category.

Is this data confirmed kaya? it means NCR only need around 6M + more vaccines to hopefully reach a herd immunity milestone in Metromanila. Thou it doesn't mean we can take our masks off but it should help stabilize hospitalizations from covid.

The multi-party deals for the COVID-19 vaccine procurement of local government units and the private sector for at least 10 million doses have “not been signed” and are “on hold,” Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri said Tuesday.

The resolution mentions that LGUs and some 300 private companies have “pending” MPAs for an estimate of at least 10 million doses.

“The feedback by most of the LGUs na kinausap ko, wala pa. Almost all have not been signed. I think the only ones that have been signed na may tripartite ay yung grupo ni Joey Concepcion, that’s private and I think the one of Ricky Razon,” Zubiri said in an interview on ABS-CBN News Channel.

we've been sold the herd immunity narrative by the authorities (i'm referring to foreign ones not local... local authorities only follow foreign authorities)
