Phase 3 data of
Sinovac published in the Lancet.
"This interim analysis indicated that, in a population aged 18–59 years,
CoronaVac had high efficacy for preventing symptomatic COVID-19 (83·5% relative to placebo) and COVID-19-related hospitalisation (100%) at least 14 days after the second dose."
Couple of notes:
1. This still used the old vaccination regimen of 2 weeks between doses, which has now been modified to 4 weeks that seems to be even more efficacious.
2. B.1 and other variants were already circulating at the time of the study.
3. I hope this puts to rest all the innuendo regarding suppression of data and that this is not a good vaccine. Publication of phase 3 data in a prestigious journal, along with WHO Emergency Use Listing should quiet all doubts that this is a life-saving vaccine and will contribute to ending this pandemic. All the vaccines we are using will save lives.
